D'angelo & Mo

Watching the game last nite at C.A. a few things stood out in my mind. First is that these kids are unselfish and move the ball nicely inside. 19 assists with only 9 t.o.'s They pretty much can all handle the ball. Seems to remind me of Frischella's last team in that regard. Second was how quick and smooth Harkless is. Before i heard the news on the radio I was thinking this had to be some kind of freshman B.E. record for points scored in a first game.In that regard Moe passed some good talent. These kids are learning and getting better. Saturday's game will be a good measuring stick of how far they've come.

North, I think most of these kids are complete or almost complete packages. These kids are Basketball players, not just kids playing basketball. They know the game and have BB IQ. That is something we have been lacking in great measure the past 7 or 8 years, for the most part.

I think Greene is underrated and Pointer will get better offensively. This team sort of reminds me of some of those Villanova teams of a few years ago, w/ a lot of long and athletic kids who are interchangeable. Another true big would be a great addtion next year, but this is a temendous nucleus.

I agree they all have skill but DH was the one player on campus that I saw at that time that stood out with his work ethic and attitude. As I said his work ethic is fantastic. However, i can say that GG and PG have very good work ethics from what I saw, but not to the same extent as DH. In addition they do not have his self confidence, which is not a knock on either player.
Greene is underrated and I believe will be the best four year pg we have had since Mark Jackson while DP's offense will improve. He will also be a very good 4 year player for us. Unfortunately for the team Mo and Dangelo are just too good to remain on campus for 4 years.

D'angelo could stay 4 years. Unfortunately I don't think he has the quickness to play in the NBA. It's early obviously, and I hope I'm wrong, but remember that Scottie Reynolds and Hardy haven't even seen an NBA roster yet.

But, if he does stay 4 years D'angelo is going to end his career as one of our leading scorers. He's averaging 15ppg now, does anyone not see that continuing? .. If not improving.. That will get him close to 2000 pts.

D'angelo's size and body type might not translate well to the NBA. I think he might be a four year player here, but will very likely get paid to play somewhere like Europe after his tenure. Our roster will always have a sprinkling of talent at different levels, but it is refreshing to see that we are going after and landing high level guys. Lavin took some risks and instead of settling on filling empty ships with lower level 4-year guys, we have a core that all can play at this level athletically and skill-wise. I don't mind Lavin takes those risks. It hurt us because of a few bad breaks this season but it won't in most years. Dare to be great rather than stock the roster just for the sake of doing so. Six freshmen destroyed in their first Big East game. There will be up and downs this season, but our trajectory upward is clear.

I wouldnt be so quick to write Harrison off {NBA} As much of I love Hardy, he broke out his sr. year. We are watching Harrison as a fr. in Dec. .

Eddie House made a nice NBA career.
Check out a guy like Norris Cole who is blossoming with the Miami Heat and played 4 yrs at Cleveland State.

Exactly, there truly is no comparison IMHO.
