Dan Hurley UConn Roster assessment

Honest question.

Why do we give a s* about UConn and Hurley.

Don't we have an exciting team? I guess most here are obsessed with Uconn?
They aren't even in our conf anymore, but each to their own.

I won't sweat UConn.

Because they (outside of SHU and Rutgers) are the next closest major team to u and are involved with many of the same recruits.

Again, Sid Wilson is suspended.

UConn announces redshirt freshman Sidney Wilson has been suspended for 2018-19 basketball season for violation of school policy that occurred during 2017-18 season

Interesting re time of infraction

Well it is nice in this day and age when I can actually be grateful despite the decades of outrage and disgust and say,

"Thank you for your foul tactics yukon scumbags! I know it was the opposite of your intention but you did us a great service anyway and I appreciate it. Happy Holidays and I will be thinking of you fondly when all of the Frankensteins, Zombies, Gouls, Vampires and even the giant walking M&Ms come to my door trying to steal an extra candy from the bowl."

This guy may be wrong on “whole season”. Other scribes not saying that.

Doesn’t make sense that he would loose this whole season for something that happened last year and he would first be hearing about it now. Probably will miss a couple of unimportant early season games.

It would be weird. Whole season is essentially suspension you give when you want kid to leave, but Hurley wouldn't be afraid to just come right out and boot him.

Always had a feeling this kid had issues even when he committed to us. He’s a cancer to have this much crap happen in such a short period. May never play for UConn.

I wasn't happy when he left, but I'm pretty happy that we have Figgy and UConn is stuck with Sid.

And if I'm not saying someone got paid, but if they did and one of the parties involved got suspended, the possibility of an Abe Keita-type blab exists if you boot the kid from the team/school.

UConn announced that redshirt freshman Sidney Wilson “has been suspended from game competition due to a violation of university policy that occurred during the 2017-18 season.

Anyone know what happened ?

Boneyard board speculating it is a failed drug test, but nothing solid has leaked yet.

He left St. John´s to stay away from home and to grow as a person and basketball player (in his own words).

And now this.

"But to also demand that we do everything to make him eligible immediately at UConn takes balls...the kid is the next Rysheed Jordan though not nearly as highly ranked. Nothing but trouble. " -1/23/18

Posted this back in January. Seemed like a troubled kid from the beginning. Sadly he is becoming Jordan-esque albeit with much less talent and his first name ain't Michael.

Im thinking that Mullin was demanding discipline and Wilson didnt like it. Hence, the transfer. Now Hurley is demanding the same thing and Syd isnt obliging. Just a theory.

Please don't compare him with Rysheed Jordan who had numerable family issues. Not condoning how Jordan acted while he was here or what he got arrested for. However, there was a lot going on in his family life that was never made public. Just because we are fans, does not mean that we have the right to know every detail of a player's life.

Father Rock has visited Rysheed in jail on numerous occasions. I pray that the young man can get his life straightened out upon his release.
