Damn Proud Post Game Thread

Phil didn't show mere onions today.

He was somewhere between Ron Artesticles and Walter's Berries.

I actually had tears in my eyes when he hit that last three. He had two huge defensive plays as well in the last five minutes.

The team may be small, but they work their asses off to help in the paint on d and get back to the shooters. Ali b seems lost (typical freshman) at times, but if they ran a stat for rebounds allowed like sacks allowed for NFL lineman, he'd be tough to beat. The kid finds a man on every shot and just pins them down. He also sets the most solid screens I've seen at SJU in a long time.

This is the game in the entire schedule that I looked forward to and will relish the rest of the season. I really don't like the losing team and the antics of their leader, Jim Moanheim!
Great Team effort guys! This was a pleasure to watch (for the second time as well)!
Not even a kind and courteous gesture to our Coach at the end. Classic Moanheim.

Great job by the kids last night winning a road game we wouldn't have had a chance in last year. We have to keep this up and enter the Seton Hall game on NYE with one loss. So happy for the kids the pictures of them celebrating in the locker room post game are tremendous.

Speaking of post game, did anyone notice the t -shirts the team wore in the post game press conference. Looks like Gotham is painted red (or blue) LOL.

Seems like this team relishes being undersized. It gives them a chance to show their toughness. Something we didn't see last year with a much bigger team. Dom stepping up to the plate on the boards. Never saw that coming. In fact, he is a different player altogether than last season, as is Chris. Some guys here, perhaps it was Marillac, saw addition by subtraction. There is a long season ahead, but so far, the signs say we won't be handing over rebounds without a fight.

Are you saying that Obekpa got 16 rebounds yesterday because Jakarr Sampson is on the 76s? Because that's just silly. In fact, this team is Jakarr Sampson away from being really quite good. The subtraction yesterday that made a bit of difference was the absence of Tyler Ennis and CJ Fair. The addition was the work Obekpa and the rest of them put in in the off season. They're all seniors now. This is what seniors do.

I think most posters felt the key to success this season was the improved play of OB and Jorden. As of now the success is due to the improved play of OB and Pointer. If Jorden gets it going???

Chemistry and playing time. Dominant second half against Minnie and throwing a scare against zags is more evidence that this team is better by subtraction. Last years team lost to penn state. Case closed.

Complete nonsense.

The 2010 team lost to UCLA. The 2011 team beat UCLA. Therefore the 2011 team was better than the 2010 team and the reason the 2011 beat UCLA is because the team got better when Dwight Hardy graduated. Addition by subtraction. Also, the sun rises because my alarm clock goes off. Case closed.

This team is better because we have better chemistry and CO and Dom have improved drastically. I'm still worried about lack of front court depth. Would like to see Amar and Jones get some burn against FDU to see what they could do and give them exp. Very impressed that CO was able to control his fouling against Christmas. This team also seems mentally improved.

Personally I dont think last years team would have won if they played yesterday. I think Dom is better this year and I think Obekpa is better and last years version no way would have not gotten in foul trouble and have grabbed so many rebounds. I think while maybe DLO's scoring would have been the same I think this years version of DLO is hustling even more and at least in my opinion is playing much better defense
