D1 Coaching Changes

Yeah, Yukon fired Ollie "for cause" in an attempt to avoid paying him the remainder of the roughly $3.5 million per year for the next three years because his contract states that if he is fired for cause, then Yukon can get out from underneath that guaranteed money.

Perhaps Ollie should state in his forthcoming lawsuit that what he did leading to the alleged NCAA infractions was know and condoned by the UConn administration and if true like acts were known and condoned during Calhoun's tenure.

Little zing in there by JC lol

Jim Calhoun: "I've always rooted for Kevin. that doesn't mean I'm as close as sometimes I'd like to be with Kevin. Kevin won a national championship for us, he was a terrific player for us and he's a great #UConn guy."

Just read a post by Adam Zagoria that the Conn program has suffered recruiting wise because it no longer plays SYR , Geo , or SJU and doesn't play at MSG.
They must be kept out of the big east and let them fade into oblivion.

Cal State Northridge has parted ways with former NBA player/coach Reggie Theus after five seasons, sources told ESPN.
My son goes to Northridge. I forgot they had a D1 basketball team.

The timing seemed odd but I just checked and the Big West only invites 8 of it's 9 teams to the conference tourney. CSUN was 9th.
That format is a recipe for firing at least one coach per year. Didn't Theus fail somewhere else?
Sacramento kings
His initial HC job -- two years at New Mexico State -- was successful (41-23, one NCAA appearance). He left to take the Kings job.
And his point guard was our own whoremonger, Elijah Ingram.
Whoremonger? Las Vegan, are you by any chance a fan of 18th-century bawdy novels?:)

By firing Ollie for cause they are admitting NCAA violations occurred and not just minor infractions.

Yep it's official. Should be interesting to see where UConn turns to next. They have deep pockets, but not sure how much of a destination they are looked upon at this point, especially playing in the AAC.
Being from CT fans want to hire Hurley. They fired Ollie using the pending NCAA investigation as the reason. Who wants to go to a school with an investigation. Sid Wilson must really love his transfer decision now.
yeah, I wonder if his Dad is going to use "what goes around comes around again"?

Not that I want to be known as a vulture, but does UConn have any recruits Matt can approach?

Would JC ever go back for like 2-3 years to get the program back into relevance; he obviously still wants to coach, there was mention of him at a small D-3 school in West Hartford, St. Joseph's.
Happy to see this considering blatant tampering with Wilson

Would Tim Cleuss be a serious candidate for UConn. ?
Very good question. If I were the AD at UConn, I'd be ringing his phone. But honestly, I think Cluess can do better than going to a school in a minor conference that has NCAA sanctions hanging over it's head.

Per Jeff Jacobs
Per Kevin Ollie firing for just cause: The full extent of alleged wrongdoing and NCAA investigation is unknown but, according to sources, Jalen Adams & Terry Larrier were involved in impermissible workouts and weren’t cleared to play until shortly before start of final SMU game.

I can see JC returning to UCONN, unless the Administration wants to ‘move on’.
Danny Hurley would be a great pick for them—which is why I pray that doesn’t happen.
Tim Cluess would be a solid pick as well, but his ‘Mid-Major’ status hurts him—unless Iona pulls off a couple wins in this year’s ‘Dance’.
UCONN deserves to “fade into oblivion” as Enright aptly said.
Here’s to that ‘oblivion’.

Due to the most recent news of Kevin Ollie getting fired James Akinjo will be decommitting from the university of Connecticut an reopening his recruiting

“The Evil that Men do , lives after them , the good is often interred with their bones .” The whole UCONN story starts with Calhoun and the stuff he pulled all the Years ago . Ollie was a part of that legacy . Jimbo got away with murder in terms of player recruiting and his ethics were 1 paragraph long . Maybe ! Doug Wiggins ? Sid Wilson ? We remember the poaching . Wiggins proved to be a nothing and who knows about Wilson . Doesn’t he get a chance to transfer now , without penalty ? UCONN is now in a second tier league because they got greedy and arrogant . They thought they were going to waltz into the ACC . But, weren’t invited . They can only wish they were still part of the BE .But, no way will they return . Ever ! These days they can’t even beat SMU , Memphis , Tulane ,etc . They dug their own grave . Their obnoxiousfans can jump in .. It’s a blessing they don’t strut around MSG anymore .

A ballhandler and capable scorer that we could use. I'm sure his phone is ringing like crazy.

I don't know anything about James Akinjo but there is no player in the world I would like StJohns to sign more than a Yukon de-commit.

My prediction remains that Sid Wilson's career will mirror Doug Wiggins.
