With 8 new BE schools and departure fees the Big East is making $80 million. They should spend $1 million of that and hire a real commissioner!!

I know a person that interviewed and if they are tracking him they need to spend money north of that. So that is something to hold out hope for.

Never play Syracuse again nor should any BEteam play them again. They wanted a few bucks and they got it.
Now its like your former wife who left you for another. We will meet them at big events (NCAA) but along with the moneycomesnew surroundings in Talahassse, Raleigh, Durham, and Clemson where their loyal alumni can get in line for tickets that aren't there.
It's harsh but that's what you get when you take advantage of a one time situation to benefit on the backs of long term friends.

Believe Monasch has said publically that we will still look to play them.

I think we should.
They're one of our long term rivals, and outside of Georgetown, we probably have more history with them than any other team. Fans want to see St Johns play Syracuse.
Texas AM screwed the Big 12, but Texas has said they're still going to schedule the rivalry as often as they can. Same with Nebraska and Oklahoma.

I got no problem playing them once they leave the BE. So long as its in Queens. This year thankfully we don't have to subject ourselves to a Cuse MSG game.

If we are going to schedule a non-conference game against the ACC, I'd much rather have Duke than Syracuse. Despite the longer rivalry with Syracuse in recent years I always looked more forward to the games against Duke.   Mix in a game against a Pac-10 school, a Big Ten or Big 12 school and that would leave me pretty happy with a 'big three' of non-conference games every year. It might help with recruiting if we are playing our games around the country rather just in the east.

Syracuse will never agree to play in Carnesecca. That would be a dream scenario, but it'll never happen.

In others words go pound sand is the message I'd try to say.

Perfecto! (That means 'perfect' in English if anyone didn't know.) I couldn't have said it better myself.

Cuse is the clear better team with a much greater history and success than us, but what really makes me mad is when they claim to be NY's team. Syracuse is about as far as you can get from the NYC area in NY state, and I still have a hard time even considering it in New York State at all! I think of Cuse as part of the Toronto metro area...it's only like 70 miles away. Cuse has absolutely nothing New Yorkish about it, yet they sell themselves as a real NY team.

Just wondering, not to pick apart words but...
Much greater history? They have a 'chip which in modern era STJ doesn't but I'm curious how much better they are over the course of history.

Would love to hear some historians and their take over time.

Good riddance to them. Never want to play or see those traitors again. Boeheim will never coach in the ACC; players won't come to play for Mike Hopkins; their fans won't travel to Clemson, Maryland, Tobacco Road, and such; and they will become irrelevant.

Joe3,
I think before you make silly comments about geography, you should grab a map. Syracuse is in the dead middle of the state. Rochester is 90 miles west and Buffalo is 160 miles west of Syracuse. Syracuse is not 70 miles from Toronto. Buffalo is!

Cuse is not in the dead middle...perhaps you are the one that needs a map. The middle is like Albany in terms of North/South. Cuse is literally near the maritime border of Canada...go look. It's like only 40 miles or something from the maritime border of Canada. That's nothing. I live 40 miles from the NYC border (Queens) and I am considered a suburb of NYC, so Cuse is like a suburb of Canada just in a diff. country. I believe the closest border is Ontario by the way. Either way my point remains...Canada is very close to Cuse and is far from being a true New York area.
