Curbelo

Pitino can change AC with some good coaching. Listen to the new coach or go sit at the end of the bench and juggle.

Prediction
If Pitino the coach-Curbelo comes back
If Claxton-Curbelo comes back
If Brey- Curbelo gone
If Langel- Curbelo gone
Anyone else it is not going to work out and bad Curbelo will be back to make a bad situation worse.

Curbelo booted off the PR national team- he and Pinzon at blows well after they are both long gone from campus. Lord knows what the lockeroom culture was like last season, the irony is unreal:

Now it's just sad. He disrespected his national team not abclllege team but his national team. This guy needs help! As another poster mentioned for Anderson to suspend you that's telling you something

Basketball has had legions of players who had enormous talent but personal issues that prevented them from having great careers. Curbelo, incredibly, will still get another shot in college. Jay Ladner at Southern Miss should demand Andre gets some counseling at the very least. Should be on a very short leash.

Curbelo just blew a gigantic shot of putting the sju stuff in the rear view mirror and playing some serious basketball. For a few hours he appeared to be doing just that. "Now what" could be his middle name.

Talent > issues = another shot
Takent <= issues = Andre who?

Sad to see such a waste of talent that many players would die for.

“I got by on talent. That was my fatal mistake.”
- Pete Maravich

I would think I have posted this quote here before but it was a big part of the first meeting I had with any team, any sport, that I coached.

That's a great quote, Logen. I'm a big Pete Maravich fan. He was perhaps the most skilled player ever.

He did suffer from a lot of emotional distress over his lifetime, so Imnot certain where that came from. He was very gifted, but his father also drove him to improve skills, such as making him dribble with the car window open as he drove him home. As a high school underclassman he would play pickup against LSU varsity players and be the best on the court, sometimes putting an exclsmation point on a win by hitting a 35 foot shot (and partly so they wouldn't give him the Charles Oakley treatment).

As a business owner you know that talent without effort and discipline is often unrealized talent. As a coach you demanded the same. Cool

Sad but no longer a St. John’s problem.

Hopefully, someone can help/reach this guy. I am sure there is a lot going on that we don’t know. If he doesn’t get some help it might not end well. Basketball will not be there much longer for him. I doubt people will put up with the nonsense.

So he had an issue with pinzon on the pr team. Wonder if they had something to do with pinzon benching at or could be his tweet basically slamming ma. Also just saw his light lights vs Cuba and kid does have talent just not a good teammate

This obviously seems to go much deeper than basketball; kind of related to my posts regarding free education, NIL, etc. Hopefully, the young man has someone of influence advising him to use basketball, in this case specifically via Southern Mississippi, to get the “life” help he needs.

Sounds like a kid who would have benefited from the John Lucas summer program that DeLo benefitted from, but that would only work if he realized he had a problem.

Wondering if Southern Miss looking for an out rather than infecting their team with a cancer.

Prescribing without an accurate diagnosis usually does not work.

He is who he is. He needs help but being that this a Redman forum and he never was really a Redman Id rather read about your guys drinking exhibitions
