And I'll retort the say way I did earlier...then get him more open looks...run an additional play or two to get him an open three off a screen or drive and kick. He's proving to be reliable. We don't need him creating his own 3, that's the difference. With Jenkins shooting less closer to 10 shots a game instead of 12-15, you make sure those get distributed out to more efficient scorers like obviously Joel and Ledlum in the paint or going to the rim with Dingle etc.

A lot is clearly still a work in progress but offensive roles should be more defined. And Joel Soriano should be leading this team in FGA every single game.
We should try to get Alleyne and Dingle open looks. They are better shooters IMO. We do absolutely nothing to set them up. They have to wait for offensive rebounds to be kicked out.

I absolutely love Taylor’s shot selection thus far, but I expect his % to slide even if he continues to only take the best shots he can.

What I find so puzzling is how confident Jenkins is despite being a 25% career 3 pt shooter over 2 1/2 years and and okay shooter his one year in the lowly MAAC. The kid takes a lot of dumb shots. Where is this confidence coming from?

From Pitino, who is telling him to shoot.

I think Jenkins eats up Ashworth this game. And if they switch Alexander on him and put Ashworth on our other guard then this is the game Dingle breaks out

Creighton reminds me of the good natured Midwestern tourists from say Omaha who hover around Rockefeller Center at Christmas looking up all glassy eyed at the buildings while standing in the middle of the sidewalk that you just want to body slam so you can make your train.

I'm pumped about this game. I think we can definitely split with them on the season. We have to remain smart off the ball on defense. I'm more worried about Alexander than anyone else on their squad. I actually think we have the athletic advantage, and if we speed up the game, we should be in it.

Normally this would be considered a gravy game, but with Pitino why not.
I was gonna call it the Tiramisu game Or maybe Tiramahersu. I ordered a pasta appetizer and pasta main course I'm bloated and didn't care about dessert when I looked at the menu yet once I finished that main course I want that f'ing Tiramisu

I am not remotely a “must game” guy until you are down to the short hairs of the season but I think, win or lose, St. John’s needs to play 40 minutes, no cruise control, no relaxing between the lines Saturday.
I am as excited as anyone about the conference start but that’s what it is, a start. A losing streak is potentially just around the corner. This conference is just too good to take the foot off the gas just because you built a double digit lead. Runs against you are one thing, they can and will happen, inviting runs against you with poor play is quite another.
Coach English said it very well in his press conference when he talked about “eliminating losing”; in other words, get beat, don’t lose.
