They recently renamed the basketball practice facility after him. Doubt he's going anywhere.Creighton should do whatever it takes to keep McDermott; we need coaches like him in the Big East.

He was phenomenal. Period.Ashworth is great but he missed a few wide open looks down the stretch. He makes those and his team may have won the game.
Anybody have a clip of the RJ behind the back pass assist? Easily recognizable as a play of the year candidate and I didn't see a replay in the arena or on the fox broadcast.
Thanks. You must be the guy who calls the cops at 7:00 pm saying there is too much noise next door.Ashworth is great but he missed a few wide open looks down the stretch. He makes those and his team may have won the game.
If it makes Mike happy...then I'm on board with it.Carmine will go bonkers.
Fanta is pretty universally loved and admired.
Do you know it's desirable to have 5 players on the court at a time And to not play your starters 40 minutes? No more Ayo and no more Prey
I don't have the stats in front of me, but all the years I've been watching Pitino coach, I don't recall one season off the top of my head where he had a great free-throw shooting team. Some were better than others, and certain players (like Travis Ford and Francisco Garcia) come to mind. But, strangely enough, despite how much Rick preaches how important FT shooting is, not one team of his sticks out in my memory as particularly solid overall. I remember Louisville fans who used to say Denny Crum wouldn't let any player leave practice until they made 10 FTs in a row. Not a bad idea.I am perplexed why the coaching staff has not been able to correct at least the free throw situation.
That is a lukewarm endorsement at best.sat in the chase bridge not terrible
Ashworth was clowned 6 weeks ago here about how devon smith and company were going to be too athletic for him. We would expose him you said.Thanks. You must be the guy who calls the cops at 7:00 pm saying there is too much noise next door.
Personally I had no issue with RJ’s decision. It wasn’t 1 on 2 or 3 with his head down. It was a 8 footer with 5 seconds on the shot clock. I’ll take that over a wide open 3 from Dev. That’s just me.I do remember that play as I was yelling at the TV for Luis to pass to Dev. You could see the look of disappointment on Dev’s face as Luis took the floater as that’s probably considered a tough shot to make. If it wasn’t for the TO I don’t think Pitino would have said anything. But if he missed the shot Coach probably would’ve subbed him out.
Ashworth reminds me of Bobby HurleyAshworth is quite a player . If you don’t admire his play , regardless of him being a opponent , you don’t appreciate good BB .
We chased him all over the Court yesterday and still he was shooting the lights out .
Our Defense wore him down a bit as we actually had him miss 2 free throws. He only missed 3
all year prior .
McDermott , in my opinion is on his way to a HOF career . He’s as good a Coach as any in College BB today . Year in , year out the Jays are always a tough out .
He has a great knack of retooling from year to year . With Players that fit perfectly in his system .
Doubt he leaves Creighton but , if Indiana opens its check book wide enough , who knows what happens .
He’s gotten Creighton to heights in BB that few could imagine when they joined the BE .
Ahhh, then get over yourself Dev. That's just RJ doing RJ things. Harnessing his inner Gervin and making it rain! You could see the look of disappointment on Dev’s face as Luis took the floater as that’s probably considered a tough shot to make.
If you don’t think he had a good game, not sure what to say. When they beats us he turned ball over 10 times v 4 yesterday.Ashworth was clowned 6 weeks ago here about how devon smith and company were going to be too athletic for him. We would expose him you said.
Now, he misses multiple wide open looks down the stretch and hes "phenominal".
Hahahahahahaha
Made it look easy and it was the right pass to makeThanks Mase. That was some Maravich sh*t right there!
I didnt say he didnt have a good game. I said he missed wide open looks down the stretch that could have led his team to victory. If you

Lots to like about Ashworth’s shooting and court sense, but his flopping and theatrics make him very hard to take, especially out past the 3 point line where they need to create a new category at the Oscars to recognize his achievements.
