I didnt think we had a shot in this one but after our performance tonight + Klingan prob being out, we have a shot here to get one in storrs.

Like most good teams our rotation w Luis return will imo be 8 guys. Wilcher, others will play spot minutes. The ten man group referenced often to wear folks down is folly imo.

Wilcher and Brady will wait their turn and Traore seems to be nosing out Zuby for time. Of course injuries, fouls and circumstance can change that, but I fully expect in BE play
Rick will go with 8 man rotation & some nights 7.

Apologize in advance for not knowing, but do we expect Luis back for UCONN, or if not, when???

I know it is the wrong way of thinking, but I just want them to be competative. I am not expecting a win, but getting blown out takes some of the air out of the progress they have made. I fear a blowout wire to wire but in this league anything is possible. Looking forward to watching. Having Luis would have been a huge help. Oh well.

Win or lose, we finally have a coach that pays incredible attention to detail. A proven blueprint as opposed to throwing caution to the wind gameday plan we’ve seen all too often.
agreed--the players definitely stepped up yesterday, but my biggest takeway was that the coaching did too. From starting alleyne, to playing zone, to giving dingle that last shot--all perfect. Also, telling the guys to dive head first for the ball, which then turned into like 2 loose ball recoveries later in the game. It's nice to finally be in a position where our coaching can actually win games--haven't felt that way since maybe those dunlap years

At the game I was annoyed that Dingle didn't dive for that ball. At the time I didn't know it got discussed in a time out, watched the replay this morning. I have been telling people this since Charleston, where I was lucky enough to be close to the bench all three games. Pitino doesn't miss anything, and the staff is incredibly active as well.

With Pitino not a huge insight, but it's not just him either. It's an impressive overall staff.

Rick has to get them ready for this game. Away game and a UConn team coming off an upset loss. We have to play perfect ball in this one. I just hope they keep it close and are competitive. UConn is not Xavier.

Regarding the zone, not taking a shot at anyone, but at the high-major level it's not that easy to effectively play. There is a lot of precision and teamwork involved. I'm not surprised that Pitino held it until it was ready, and also didn't show it before league play. In the postgame press conference Miller basically admitted they weren't prepared for it.

That part works once, and once only, but it did help win a game.

The funny thing is that would have 100% been a foul if Dingle dove for that ball. He had no chance😂 But it clearly wasn’t about the play to Pitino.

It was about the killer mindset he wants the guys to have and it was specifically about Dingle’s low motor.

Agree , you think Rick had a long distance chat with Boeheim ?
I think we all and certainly Xavier were surprised by the Pitino Zone . Miller is a top tier Coach and yet , Slick Rick outfoxed him .

UCONN without Clingan isn’t as formidable but , still dangerous . I was hoping he would play and Soriano run him ragged up and down the Court .

I’m not convinced Clingan has the stamina that Joel has .

Random thought: wonder if they’ll have a tribute video for Alleyne. Contributor on a national championship team

also made me think: I hope we do thank you videos when Posh and Wusu come to play us. Gave several years to our program!
Posh was one of my favorite players in recent years. Unfortunately his role was impacted by the "Curbelo Experiment". However, I don't think that a tribute video would be appropriate. Supposedly he had an opportunity to return (circumstances not clearly known). He will be giving 100%+ to beat SJU at CA. I can't imagine that Rick or our new players would be comfortable with a video for an "opposing player". It's fine that the fans give Posh a well deserved welcome during the player introductions.
