Connecticut (MSG), Sat., Feb. 3, 12 NOON, FOX

Well you know, Rick also does seem to relish the celebrity of the role and being in the spotlight. I doubt he'd ever be comfortable sitting at home.

But I'll tell you what. Id be lying if I said it didn't cross my mind wondering if he'd be desperate enough to win here that he resorted to whatever tactics got him in trouble at Louisville.
Seems very remote at his age now.......think granny porn is the worst he will get involved with.😝

Pitino’s frustration with him clearly is on defensive end. He yanked him early yesterday after a few blow byes by UConn. The solution is for him to give defense the same attention he seems to have for scoring. He does that and he probably gets a pass for some forced shots, but this “giveth and taketh“ stuff has to improve. Ball seems to be in his court, not Pitino’s.
Pitino is not doing a good job in motivating players like RJ Luis and Simeon Wilcher by extensive benching after a mistake.

Hypothetically, bring in Zed Key, CJ Wilcher and another high quality 4/5 or combo guard and that can be a very good team.

With NIL, no need to resort to “tactics.” It’s the Wild West and full on free agency…

I know that the losing 5 of the last 6 games has been played up and is a legit concern but think of where the losses came from. UConn. Creighton and Marquette all three were top 15 or better teams, did you really expect to win those pre season? The other two were Seton Hall away and Xavier. The Hall had recently beaten both UConn (by 15) and Marquette and were on a roll. And while the Xavier loss is not good, how many teams beat Xavier there? It sucks that we have lost so many recently but there is allot of hoops to be played.

Now assuming we go 4-0 against G Town and DePaul if we can’t take down either the Hall or Creighton at home or one of PC or Butler on the road then this team may not deserve a Dance invite period. I don’t expect a win at Marquette.

What specifically did he do that was terrible? He made one bad play all night because he has a really bad handle.

He took 3 shots and made 2. He was one of two players that defended above average. He also had 2 assists in 14 minutes.
Agree.

I was at the game yesterday in section 117. Definitely thought Alleyne's ankle was still bothering him as he was leaving and returning to the bench. When healthy he should be playing at least 20 - 25 minutes each game and not losing minutes to Taylor or Dunlap.
If given the minutes, his experience (offense and defense) will be very valuable in the upcoming key stretch of games.

if you really wanna see what type of players are targets watch some old Louisville film. Push the ball and shoot when you’re open. No long 25 second possessions

- It starts with the point guard
- They’ll go all in to target a finisher
- Athletic big man that can run the floor and most importantly protect the rim
- shooting and shooting and more shooting

I’d love for Jenkins to have a year left to play with what we bring in. Too bad
Jenkins is half the reason we can’t play that way now. You need ultra quick guards and he isn’t that. We can’t create any easy points.

Luis is the only one who plays that way and he’s a completely turnstile if he doesn’t get a steal.

I agree with your vision of a backcourt plus I'd rather have a player like DaRon Holmes of Dayton than Zed Key. If he's interested in entering the portal, I think he fits your definition of uptempo ability plus he's 6'10".
Cliff Omoruyi from Rutgers is probably best Pitino fit at center. I’m sure everyone is available for the right price in 2024.

What makes us attractive is Pitino and the huge role carved out by Soriano.

He's getting a guard and PF who are two of the top three HS players in the country coming in next season why in the hell would he want to come here?
Tough to win with freshmen. I don’t think playing with a top PF is a selling point for a center.

I agree Rocket. Also in the world of NIL , when you get players with a lot of talent and they’re young , you have to let them play through their mistakes and give them enough burn otherwise they’ll just move on and look for a better situation. Pitino is not use to that.

I love the idea of having Drissa, Ayo, and Conway on the team. But only if they never see the floor in a competitive game. They're great culture guys, teammates, etc., and it's good to have those people. I just don't understand, and no one has had a good enough answer, why Pitino insists on playing thse guys.

"Make sure Conway is ready" -- ready for what? The guy has subpar athleticism for the Atlantic 10, was never that good of a shooter in the first place (he shot 30% two years ago), and his defense is atrocious. It's so hypocritical to your team to say every possession count, and then play him for three minutes over literally anyone else on this team.

Paultz, you really triggered me, sorry about that. /rant over.
I think we took too many great kids on the low end because staff thought there'd be a way higher end than what we've gotten.
