Connecticut (MSG), Sat., Feb. 3, 12 NOON, FOX

I hope Hurley and his buddies enjoy. He knows this will not happy anymore with there scumbag fans coming into MSG not going happen next yr!

I was telling a UCONN fan (classy guy unlike a lot of their fans) to enjoy the Garden now, because it aint happening next year.

He asked how many CA holds. I told him. Poor guy actually thinks that there will be 3k UCONN fans there.

Told him it aint happening. Not a chance.

It’s cool probably been with his wife I’ll wear my Hugo Boss to our next game Vs Uconn, love a North Stamford girl!

This article to me is a very bad look. Rick knew exactly what the rules were when he took the job and other coaches like Hurley, for instance, have to deal with the exact same landscape.
He’s bad after losses. He should cool off before talking, I agree.

One change though, since his hiring, is the NCAA backing down on no second transfers. That’s new and a big deal.

OK, the sky isn't falling. Come off the ledge. I am disappointed too and wish things were different. BUT, this was the #1 team in the nation who happens to be defending national champs. Not saying all that happened is OK, but...

Marillac's observation of an open Dunlap several times in the corner only to be ignored frustrated me. Isn't that what the kid is in there for?

I will leave off with this...a text message from a guy I coach with who knows the game well and is a casual St. John's fan: "Watched the game and man did they stay with them, mostly. Really good team."

We need to step back a little and relax. Just the opinion of this 40+ year fan! On to the next game.
I look for a team to work to realize their potential as much as possible, to get better as the season goes on, to learn from and eliminate mistakes. This team is not doing that, they hung with UConn better up there so I take no solace in hanging in the 1st half and getting dusted in the 2nd.
And I am not sure how casual a fan your friend is and he is certainly entitled to his opinion but getting outrebounded by 6 by 4 GUARDS speaks volumes to me about what I have commented on all season, the lack of effort and focus by this team,
Pitino has not forgotten how to coach but unfortunately, we have a team that seemingly refuses to accept or apply his coaching.
This team may still make the tournament but deep down, as a fan, at this point I really don’t care if they do or not. This is just me, but I don’t respect their lack of effort.

Right now, we are the 3rd worst team in the big east. Can you argue otherwise?
we're better than Nova' since we beat them twice....and still may be better then Butler which is TBD....Im the ever pessimist with this team but I'm trying to stay positive as they did lose a bunch of close ones against good teams...DePaul is the 'get right' game that teams need when they are on a slide...lets keep our hopes up as hard as that is

The BE and the Garden have already nixed that, we will be playing them in the Garden.

This frustrates me. Wonder why this was nixed, assuming money isn't the reason, lol.

Oddly enough, this guy lived in Stamford. Anyhow, he probably thinks I was drunk and blowing smoke now that I found out we are playing them at MSG again. Rick had a great idea.

Conference can dictate venue if team plays more than two home games at larger public venue

Instead of carrying on where the game is going to be played let’s beat them and ruin their trip home.

I agree....the lack of effort and focus is what is concerning...watching Jenkins at the press conf. afterwards, you can just tell he's so dejected because the other guys simply are not bringing the same energy and focus that he is game-after-game....its no secret what the weaknesses are of this team and when you see nothing change and only get worse is whats troubling....Jenkins even mentioned how the team is not responding to what the coaches are telling them....thats a major concern...its the same issues every game and there seems to be no urgency by these players to fix it...we need more out of a guy like Alleyne because Dingle is a guy off the bench, he should not be getting more than 15 minutes a game since he cant shoot or rebound.....I'm already looking to next year so I hope Dunlap, Wilcher and Zuby start getting more PT

One thing I noticed today was Rick played Dingle 30 minutes which I don't think he's done all year. That said two things to me - (i) Dingle was clearly engaged defensively and (ii) I suspect coach has decided that we are going nowhere unless Dingle becomes half of the scoring threat he expected. Will be interesting to see how this develops going forward.

I think we can play with anyone. The problem is we haven't strung a bunch of 40-minute performances together so it seems like it's getting late early. We really need to beat the absolute sht out of DePaul and Georgetown.

As long as he scores more than he is directly responsible for giving up, we need to play him. He will never get on track without the minutes.

Pitino talked about 3 levels of energy or motors for players before the season and said Jenkins and maybe Zuby were playing with a high motor but others were getting there. Unfortunately those two guys are still the only ones that play with a high motor. Unfortunately despite all of his double doubles Joel just does not play with a high motor witness despite Clingan playing less than half the game because of foul trouble he ended up with 6 and 4 when if he had played with a high energy he should have dominated the paint and boards.

I thought the Defense was great in the first half but the offense took another step backward.

Taylor….. no show again offensively
Ledlum …..cant hit an outside shot
Alleyne…… injury affected his game I guess
Dingle ……was better early on
Luis….. up and down
Soriano…… fading
Zuby….??????

Again I go back to the Utah game. The ball movement, passing, court spacing etc. was much better then what we have witnessed over tge last 6 games or so.
Utah was also the last time we were the more athletic team.

There is not a lot of physical talent on this team.

Also wonder if that friend knew that UCONN was without Caraban, and that Clingon was limited by foul trouble most of the game. So they basically beat us with nothing from one of their best players, and very little from another.
