Concordia exhibition 11/6

Nine blocks already for us (5 for Obekpa). I know those stats can be misleading considering the opponent. I have a hunch we're gonna block plenty of shots this season (we're missing another shotblocker in Sanchez).

The amazing thing from Obekpa's highlight video seems to carry over to real games - he blocks shots TO teammates - Most guys just block them out of bounds. But 4 of his ended up in teammates hands, 3 for fast breaks..

Not necessarily. It could be a legit reason or an excuse. I do know about some of our posters who aren't in a position to go out to the games at the moment due to circumstances, per the Hurricane Sandy.

I was also just thinking how quickly players transfer...if Harrison transfers (god forbid), we are finished.

I'm really worried...let's hope this benching doesn't open pandora's box. Why is there so much drama around this program? 2nd straight year we go in with huge expectations all pumped, and 2nd straight year we may lose a few players and have one key player transfer on us.

Enough. What good does posting about this do? Please stop. He's a 19 year old kid that has an elevated level of responsibility and Coach is holding him to that. It's better to learn the lesson now agaisnt Concordia than when the games count.

For those that have watched the whole game, has Phil Greene played? I saw NDaiye, Pointer, Garrett Jones, and Obekpa in there for the last 3-4 minutes I watched. We have a ton of athletic talent, but damn this team looks sloppy as hell. Detriot will be a rude awakening, because this team just isn't give us a look out there.

I'm somewhat concerned. Far from panic mode, but a tad concerned, nonetheless. It's imperative Harrison gets on the same page with everyone, and the NCAA expediately clears up the situation with Sanchez and Bourgault.

There is only one more week to the start of the season. So, Harrison and the NCAA needs to get it in gear, ASAP.
 
Good timeout.... Sloppy ballhandling by Sampson, and he severely overplayed (placed himself in a poor defensive position) on the defensive end.
 
 By the way, front row sports shows it has been shut down by the govt. for copyright infringement.

 I take back what I said last week...Jones looks very good. He is an important offensive piece.
 
This may be a minor thing, but I just saw Harrison smiling on the bench when Jones came out and Harrison greeted him. It might be a stretch to think this, but hopefully that means that Harrison is good spot mentally. Showing that he is not pouting because he's happy for teammate.

I also saw him get excited (jumped up) on Garrett's "and 1." He was also clowning around and laughing with Obekpa a few minutes ago.

I was thinking the same. I think it's good to see ANY sign of positivity by him. Hopefully he will put this behind him and be mature about it.
 
I need to temper my enthusiasm by remembering that we played a D-III oponent tonight
But, I was very impressed with the athleticism and versatility of our team
Obekpa, Sampson and Jones, in particular, were very impressive
Greene was steady
Pointer showed the ability to distribute but still doesn't have a reliable jump shot
Garrett had some good moments as well
There is no way that we finish last in the BE (Mr. DeCourcy, with all due respect, you are out of your mind!!)
And we haven't seen Sanchez or Bourgault yet
I love the potential of this team and can't wait for the season to begin.
