Concordia exhibition 11/6

I watched that Outside The Lines episode. Gotta give it to Lavin for scheduling this game.

Sometimes it's more than just being about the sport. These 2 coaches and programs are giving encouragement to a lot of people. I tip my hat to them.

 And so it begins:

@STJ_Basketball: @STJCoachLavin announced D'Angelo Harrison will not play in the exhibition game vs. Concordia. #stjbb (1 of 2)

@STJ_Basketball: Harrison's benching is a result of @STJCoachLavin's expectation of a heightened sense of leadership and maturity... (2 of 3) #stjbb

@STJ_Basketball: ... from one of the key members of his young Johnnies team. (3 of 3) #stjbb

I mentioned D'Angelo's mentality and focus in another thread today.

What is his deal? He seems to be getting more immature instead of more mature. Wtf? Clearly he did something else since last time he was benched. 2 infractions in the first few weeks? He better get his act together and fast, because without him as our leader, we will fail.

It is very concerning, I agree.

Seems like Harrison isn't playing at all tonight.... Hopefully, Harrison comes around. I do not wanna jinx anything, but we know how quick kid's nowadays will transfer at the drop of a hat.

D'Angelo Harrison benched for tonight's exhibition. #stjbb

Harrison has not met Lavin's expectations for leadership and maturity, per the team. #stjbb

Speaking of Whitehead and other recruits, this news does not look good at all. It gives the impression that some players are not serious or mature enough with these 2 Harrison incidents. I was also just thinking how quickly players transfer...if Harrison transfers (god forbid), we are finished.

Not necessarily. It could be a legit reason or an excuse. I do know about some of our posters who aren't in a position to go out to the games at the moment due to circumstances, per the Hurricane Sandy.

Yeah, we would be in deep water.

Nine blocks already for us (5 for Obekpa). I know those stats can be misleading considering the opponent. I have a hunch we're gonna block plenty of shots this season (we're missing another shotblocker in Sanchez).

 Is there a game thread? I can't watch it on espn3 :(

I guess this is the game thread. I'm not able to watch it either.

I'm listening to it on WSJU Radio.

Firstrowsports.com has the live feed with no download necessary. You have to x out of a few ads (wait the 20 seconds for the big one to close).

I'm really worried...let's hope this benching doesn't open pandora's box. Why is there so much drama around this program? 2nd straight year we go in with huge expectations all pumped, and 2nd straight year we may lose a few players and have one key player transfer on us.

Thanks! I went there about 30 minutes prior to the game, but didn't see a link for it. Appreciate it!
