Coaching Carousel
Jim Christian will return as Boston College's head coach next season.
I like Christian, but I really think he'd be much better as an assistant.

At the very least, he's definitely not the right type coach for Boston College. BC really needs someone like Beilein.

100% convinced that the lack of coaching turnover is almost entirely due to COVID19. Hard to move around and conduct interviews with a complete shutdown.

There was an article where the BC athletic director said this. Not very comforting if I'm Christian, but I guess if he knew he was on borrowed time, it's one more year to show your next employer what you've got.

My guess is Danny Manning probably not getting canned.
Good thing we didn't wait an extra year to take care of our business.

The worse situation would have occurred if StJohn’s had hired Coach Tim Cluess a year ago only to have him fall ill and not coached last season and then resign.

God bless Mike Cragg and Mike Anderson.

Yeah this can’t be understated. If we had hired Tim we would have been stuck and going backwards year or two unfortunately. Certainly a dodged bullet for SJU, no fault of Tim’s unfortunate circumstances.

Keep Tim in your prayers. That family has experienced more than their share of health issues.

But then we would’ve gotten Pitino :p

Wake Forest has parted ways with Danny Manning, sources told @Stadium.

The Wake Forest candidate pool will include Steve Forbes, Wes Miller, Pat Kelsey and Ryan Odom, source told @Stadium.

Nice choices

Crazy doing it this late after 2 players recently announced they are transferring in, including a grad transfer. Wonder how they feel.

I think Chaundee Brown declaring for the NBA but also going in the transfer portal might have been the last straw.. He may be their best player.

Odom certainly has the name WF fans can connect with, but assuming all four would say yes, I think I'd go with Forbes if I were them.

Manning's buyout is in the $15mil range
I'd like to be his accountant

Nobody knows for sure because Wake is a private school so that figure may not be accurate. But no doubt the previous AD Dave Wellman put them in a bind And if it is that amount Wellman should be brought up on charges,

I think this guy's transfer may have been the last straw for Manning. Manning was already hanging by a thread and probably only being saved because of Covid 19. Then a little more than a week ago Brown decides to simultaneously declare for draft and put his name in the portal. He is probably their best returning player. I think Currie and Wake basically said bringing Manning back at this point is a waste of time. Just putting off doing this for another year.

Wake Forest transfer Chaundee Brown is down to four schools — Gonzaga, LSU, Illinois and Iowa State.
