I'm not sure it's all lavins coaching but it's more about the types of players he filled our roster with!!! Insane athletes with very little basketball skill or iq!!! Look at when obepka took that 15 ft jumper...that kid should no his role and immediately get back under the hoop!!!! We have 3 great athletes on the floor, only Jordan and dlo have actual skill
I've stated that we need a wing player who can shoot and create his own shot. We're missing such a player.
Sanchez could be that player, but he seems too passive nor his jumper seems consistent enough. But I do believe you can add Sanchez into the equation of Harrison and Jordan, in regards to being skillful.
Can you imagine if Dom had a jumpshot? Would completely change the team's dynamic. He passes up 10 open shots every game, maybe more.
I think Jordan is going to takeover the rest of the season. He drained a three and a mid range jumper against Xavier. His jumper is starting to show up.
Back to the topic of the thread, we could beat Georgetown and opinions will begin to change on Lavin. that is why we should wait to the end of the season before judging what he has done. We could go on and win every single game for the rest of the year and we will all look dumb for questioning him. Honestly, I do not like where we are right now either, I do not think anybody does, but last time I checked the regular season ends in March, not January. As I said in another thread, if we keep playing poorly and do not make the NCAAs at the end of the year, I will question Lavin being at the head of the team. But the season needs to play out, the product on the floor hasn't always been great this year, but have we looked bad all year? NO! We had stretches against #2 Syracuse and #4 Wisconsin where we looked worthy of being on the court with them. So nobody should act like we have played terrible basketball all year, cause that isn't true.
Going off of what mkras said, in that 2010 season, we didn't get that highly coveted "quality win" until Jan. 3 against GTOWN. Which is ironically tomorrow. So we have a prime example that lacking a quality win by January is not the end of the world. We can turn this around, lets root for the team to do so, and wait until the end of the year before seriously calling for Lavin's head.
