So you think swiping at a ball when there's time left on the clock warrants a 1 game suspension?
I mean, it's in bad form, but it's not a suspendable action. Yancy Gates got 6 games for sucker punching someone. Southerland swiping at a ball hardly seems worthy to me. To each his own though.

Cuse fan here, what James did was out of line and bush , but to suspend a kid for that is absurd. I don't care how much you dislike Boeheim, to call him classless is just wrong. He read James the riot act, and then apologized to your coach. As for the whining, what great coach doesn't whine a little? Doesn't mean you don't have class.
btw any coach in America would have done what Boeheim did after getting left out of the tournament with 22 wins, and going 10-6 in the big east.

Are people REALLY upset about this?? A suspension?? SACK UP. Who gives a flying you-know-what that he dunked at the end of the game. That stuff is so overblown. The players on this team arent butt hurt by it and neither should we. They won the game and thats all that matters. I guarantee that our players didn't get their feelings hurt by a dunk at the end. Nobody cares.
Not for nothing, but other than an accusation, there is no proof at all that fine had relationships with any players.
Boeheim has young children, who spend a great deal of time around the program. If he knew that fine was molesting kids, do you really think he would keep the guy around?

Most people on planet Earth have an ounce of common sense and realize that Boeheim would never vehemently defend Bernie if he could harm his #1 ranked team/career/legacy if he "knew", but I also know redmen.com doesn't let facts get in the way of a good anti-Syracuse thread, so I'll bite here. Just to get the facts straight, you guys know that the accuser himself once said that Boeheim didn't know, right? And that the District Attorney, who is most familar with the case, has said that Boeheim had no clue.

Totally Agree with you on this.
This board is getting really bad at complaining about everything that doesn't go St. John's way. We lose a recruit and it's how much money they were offered, we lose a game and the refs were against us, the other team is classless. Boeheim and other coaches are whining.
This whole thread is a bunch of posters whining, suck it up and move on.
By nature fans aren't objective. I have neither the inclination nor the time to go on the Cuse board but my guess is that much of the same type of whining/complaining goes on there and on most other boards. FWIW as far as whining coaches go, undoubtedly Boeheim is right near or at the top. Always has been.
The whole point is that if you just tell a kid, who obviously is classless, he did the wrong thing, he learns nothing. If you hurt him by suspending him for one game on a championship team he is NEVER going to do something that STUPID again! He embaressed his coach, his team and mostly himself, which he didn't even realize. He is a kid and he is here to learn, not be pushed through so he has no class in life. That is what this step in the process is all about. This is where these kids not only learn the game but what it takes to be a decent human being.
I guess you don't have kids.
