Christian Jones

I think the question was asked because a recent article listed him amongst the departed but that is the ONLY place I have seen that mentioned and don't believe it to be true.

PS if Yakwe joins Owens as not eligible this season CJ should get some minutes with the only other "bigs" being Sima, AliB, and Williams.

One more smart aleck remark like that and I'll pound you into Bolivia, oh wait, you're already there.
 
I care. WE should all care. Remember he hurt his knee in the beginning of the preseason last year. Give him a chance. We are all St John's
 
He obviously hasn't shown much on the court, and may never get the chance, but he's still here for some reason. It may be as simple as that he's a hell of a guy. If that's good enough for this staff's plan, it's good enough for me.
 
You can't play 12 or 13 guys. Preferably 8 or 9 guys should play. Sometimes people go crazy over the 12 and 13 guys. Jones is hated becuase Lavin hyped him up and started him for no reason. If Jones never played like he should have and was just a practice body, he would never get mentioned. If we are really worrying about Jones status this is going to be one long year.

I suggest we give him a clean slate and see what the new staff can pull out of him. Hope for a better result with better coaching and developmental drills. :)

Hate isn't the word. We were so thin last year, when he came in, his performance was mediocre at best. That is the reason for the dislike. He is not a BE player. We could use him this year for depth, Maybe I am wrong and he will improve w Mullin.
 
Jones has Big East size but seemingly lacks Big East skills or heart.

If Mullin and company can motivate him and develop his skills then IMO he could be a 7 to 8 minute per game contributor off of the bench.

That is even a sillier reason to "dislike" him. If someone told you to perform surgery and you couldn't would it be your fault? Unless you are on Kentucky, 10-13th men on teams are not really expected to do much but be practice fodder. He was put into the position to play because of poor roster management and situation was exacerbated by Lavin hype during preseason his frosh year. He is what he is bottom of the roster body.

Reminds me of a mannequin on the court. The staff has to get him to loosen up.
 
The problem is he wasn't a 10 Th man on the team. He was in a position to be a first off the bench backup. Maybe the fault was w Lavin for not recruiting appropiate backup players. Nothing against him personally. But as a BB player, he is not one of my favorites. He certainly wasn't a jerk like CO or Jordan.
