Chris McCullough, PF (Syracuse Commit)

The visit was not the first time on a BIG EAST campus for the 6-foot-9, 202-pound rising sophomore. McCullough told us he has also previously made unofficial visits to Providence, Rutgers and St. John’s.

“I love the coaches at St. John’s,” he added.

St. John’s, UConn, Arizona, UMass, North Carolina, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Pittsburgh, Providence, Florida, Iowa State, Kansas State, Temple, Syracuse and Hofstra were the schools McCullough listed as active currently in his recruitment. According to him many have made it known a scholarship is available to him.

“Schools who offered [are] St. John’s, Providence, Rutgers, Florida, Iowa State [and] Syracuse,” he said. He later added “Temple [and] Hofstra also offered.”

I salivate reading about this kid. I think Lavin locks this up. Kid with huge upside. A coach that has put a ton of big men in the NBA. A staff built to get kids to the NBA. Sounds like a perfect fit.

Has anyone ever blown up this quick ( since Lavin's camp ). I mean KOB didnt even want to mention about being at Lavin's camp because they were trying to keep him under wraps.

He's almost top 10 in his class already and it seems he's only scratching the surface according to the people like KOB who know him.

It's so much fun now reading about these kids who we actually have legitimate shots with now

The closest I can remember is the Davis kid going to Kentucky. That kid exploded all the way to #1 by growing 8 inches one year. Went from a Depaul commit to the top recruit.

"Chris McCullough rockin' the St. John's socks during Bronx team B.O.B. Warm-up" per NYChoops twitter... :)

The staff is all over some future studs. The next 5 years could be really interesting and exciting.

Saw McCullough during the Battle of the Burough's last week at Gauchos Gym. Really REALLY love this kid's game. Perfect type of player for what Lavin is trying to build here.

Honestly this kid has so much time to choose a school. If we're his dream school then I'm sure we'll be there right till the end. I don't even want to speculate yet because he is so far off from choosing a school.

Let the kid enjoy the attention and recruiting process and hopefully we will be there every step of the way and at the very end.

Agree with the last 2 posts; two years is an eternity and the kid has a million experiences to shape his mindset between now and then. Great that we are so on the radar and hopefully we are the best fit for him come selection time.
