Yes. Was a school record until Shamorie scored 44
Actually, Marcus Hatten also had 44 points back in 2003 vs Rutgers.

This is the part people do not really take into account when talking about the schedule.I think BE is going to be crazy competitive this year
My only concern is getting on the bubble first, and going from there. My only concern is that at the end of the day, in the event that we're on the bubble for the tournament, the NCAA committee is going to look at our schedule and possibly use it against us. I'm not saying we should be playing ranked teams, but possible one or two more competetive teams.
I hear you Demo and I agree. The bottom line is finish in the top 5 in the Big East and make to Friday night in the Big East Tournament and we won’t have to worry about it. That is the position we have put ourselves in. We can do it though. We also have to make sure that we beat all these cupcakes by 10pts or more.My only concern is that at the end of the day, in the event that we're on the bubble for the tournament, the NCAA committee is going to look at our schedule and possibly use it against us. I have never heard CMA so much as even mention never having a losing season and if he did, someone else brought it up first. Pretty sure he has never boasted about it.Having somewhat of a soft schedule is OK as every school does it but its hard for me to believe that someone is not crunching the math to make sure that CMA is able to continue to boast of not have a losing season.
I can almost certainly guarantee you its on his resume.I have never heard CMA so much as even mention never having a losing season and if he did, someone else brought it up first. Pretty sure he has never boasted about it.
While it is impressive, I wish they would put that on the back burner until he gets the Johnnies turned around. Then they can toot that horn all they want. Mike Anderson has had four head coaching jobs in his career. Each place he went to was in need of a rebuild or was in shambles when he was hired.“Never having a losing season” banter is not paying the bills, helping fundraising, nor positioning Johnnies to “dance“ and establish a reasonably consistent winning program. It is just game announcers’ fodder and to me tedious.
Assuming, arguendo, that this is true, unless he posted his resume publicly that wouldn't be boasting.I can almost certainly guarantee you its on his resume.
but what you don't get in the BE schedule is extra homes games against quality teams. the ooc schedule allows us to get 1, 2 quality home games that can do wonders for our resume. we have not taken advantage of that the last few seasons. This is the part people do not really take into account when talking about the schedule.
Since UConn joined the league, we now have 20 Big East games. That is two more than we used to before Uconn joined. Meaning, our OOC schedule does not HAVE to be as daunting as maybe it should have been when we only had 18 Big east games.
20 conference games + a conference tournament in a very competitive conference. We didn't need to have a murderers row OOC slate. What we have is some very good progress check games against P5 teams in similar places as us. It is a good opportunity.
Solid post - good reference points - nice change of scenery reading this compared to what has become a lot of pessimistic takes (however warranted) of CMA.While it is impressive, I wish they would put that on the back burner until he gets the Johnnies turned around. Then they can toot that horn all they want. Mike Anderson has had four head coaching jobs in his career. Each place he went to was in need of a rebuild or was in shambles when he was hired.
UAB had fallen on hard times and had a losing record prior to CMA taking them back to 3 NCAA and one NIT appearances in 4 years including a Sweet Sixteen. He then took over a Missouri Tigers team that had had 3 straight losing seasons and in five seasons he took them to 3 NCAA tournament games including an Elite Eight appearance. He then went to Arkansas which was at its lowest point in 25 years and was in such a mess that Dana Altman took the job, realized the mess he had gotten into, and quit within one day. A sad day for a proud program. Anderson came in and, behind in the facilities race in the SEC and losing recruits to payola by SEC schools, he still built Arkansas back up to a point where the job became attractive again. Now, he is facing another big challenge at St John's, another proud program that has fallen on hard times.
Mike Anderson is a program builder. He leaves places better than he found them and to do that while not having a losing season is quite impressive, no matter who you play. If the Zags had been playing in the Big 8 or in the SEC instead of the WCC, perhaps Mark Few might have had a losing season or two by now.
Whether he gets St John's turned around or not, Mike Anderson is a good coach. I don't know how this chapter will turn out but I wouldn't bet against the man.
Likely a talking point on every PowerPoint presentation for a recruits on campus official visitAssuming, arguendo, that this is true, unless he posted his resume publicly that wouldn't be boasting.![]()
I seriously doubt that he designs PowerPoint presentations himself to show recruits but it is possible. Could be he will hire skywriters to scribble it over MSG on game days as well. The possibilities are endless.Likely a talking point on every PowerPoint presentation for a recruits on campus official visit

Putting something that is a fact on your resume is not boasting. It's called telling the truth about yourself. Something todays resume writers know little about.I can almost certainly guarantee you its on his resume.
Yea, tell that to Louisville their last 2 games, nothing guaranteed.According to ESPN, SJU -27.5, and more importantly, with a 96.3% chance of victory.
