Calling all season ticket holders

This will be a difficult decision for me. It is very hard for me to give up on a program that I have supported since I was a kid. It is not easy to give up on St. John's as a school as well. It has been a great institution for so many first generation college students. I don't think I will give up my season tickets for a couple of years as I want to try and hope for the best. I love watching basketball and to me the tickets are a great value. However if we are going to have a team similar to the to the one in Mullin's first year with no hope for improvement, I will eventually check out as I did for several seasons when Norm was the coach.
Look at it as a sabbatical, until things are fixed around here. Not buying tickets or donating, till this ship is righted, is the only way we can send a message. Anything else is just hot air.
You are one of my favorite posters and I know you wouldn't ask for something that is unreasonable. If you are committed to coming back if things get better, then I could get behind this.

None of us WANT to do this. We've just been pushed to the point where we feel this is the only option. If we stop spending money on tickets and cease donations than maybe the powers that be will be forced to recognize that things are broken and need to be addressed. If we keep doing the the same thing, then nothing will change.

Unfortunately, I think based on events before Repole's call the school knew our most ardent fans are upset. I don't think a ticket strike will change a single thing unfortunately.

Not true. Everything is about money. Everything.

A significant drop in ticket sales and a return to Norm era MSG attendance will prompt change.

It's a catch 22, empty arenas will make our already difficult recruiting issues next to impossible. I will always support the TEAM, I understand not supporting Dumb and Dumber, but not to the detriment of the young men who do choose us.

Do you honestly believe the BOT is going to remove Gempeshaw, and Gempeshaw fire Oliva, from the basketball team tanking next season and attendance dropping? Do you really think that the Eastern province of Vincentians, who are represented on the BOT will remove board members because of this.

I don't, sorry.

Having said that basketball is an entertainment product, and no reason to support a product by buying tickets if you are unhappy.

Except when Duke, UConn, 'Cuse et al are hosting games there.

I will not be renewing my season tickets. I emailed Joe Oliva and also called the ticket office to pass along my disgust.

Joe Oliva was hired as General Council in October of 2000. Let’s check the time line since he’s been hired? We all know what the last 19 years has been like . This guy needs to go!!!
This is great.
Maybe I can move up to seat-backs next year!
Gosh, darn it. Maybe I won't be able to move up to seat-backs next season.
I am an '85 grad and long time season ticket holder for 33 of the last 38 years( took time off during Jarvis and Norm). I love SJU! I am an avid reader of the Redmen board. It's great to be a part of the family. I enjoy watching the team from Section 3 at Carnesecca and section 107 at MSG. This search is the final straw. Everything Mike Repole said was so true. We have an AD who knows how to get this done. This is the worst search ever. We look like a bunch of idiots. I hope the Big East doesn't boot us. At the end of the day Bobby, Joe and the board have to go.
They better hope Cragg stays(which I doubt). I am out next year
Well that lasted 24 hours for me. I will be back again
Go SJU!
