C7 Update

Nothing better that to see the next couple of years what happens to UConn.
Maybe they will lose some of their arrogance. They are now in a bad conference.
UConn vs. Tulane @ Stoors in January. Wow, what a matchup !!

As much as I do not dislike Ollie, as much as I did Jimbo, this couldn't happen to a better program, IMHO.

Call me crazy but i would love to have UConn with us. (obv won't happen due to football)
I am also hoping for ACC to collapse. Maybe we can pick up Duke :)

1. You are crazy ;)

2. F*CK Uconn

I agree paesan'!!!!
PS......if you were not a mod (one of my favorites) you would get a warning PM for #2. LOL

In the future, between us goombas, use "va fa n'cullo" instead.

Nah. Some things around here will always trigger certain well reasoned responses without the threat of banning from me.

1. Claiming I use the word "gravy" instead of "sauce"

Mangia, beve, e penza alla salute.

In the eternal chasm that divides Italian Americans, you have an eternal place at my dinner table for your position on the proper tomato based nomenclature. To extend an olive branch to you, you can even bring your own sauce.

Ha! I forgot to add a ;) after my #1.

It's all in fun. We are cool.

What's "sauce?" Never had it in my entire life. Always had gravy with my macaronis and I loved putting muzzerella cheese on it. :)

Proud of your alma mater, that looks like an Indiana degree behind you. : ).[/quote]

I know right? I'm St. John's undergrad '97, IU for law '02. I often refer to SJU as my wife, with IU as the girlfriend...but never in front of women :)

Assuming that nothing gets undone and we get to start play in the new Big East next year, it goes without saying that Fox Sports will be a major reason why. I personally can't wait for their new channels to debut (I read somewhere that there will be a FoxSports Channel 1 & a FoxSports Channel 2, taking a page from the ESPN "family of networks"). I love the fact that ESPN won't have the monopoly on cable sports programming (lets not forget the NBC Sports Network which is already in play). With this being said, I decided to check out FoxSports.com coverage of St. John's basketball & I was quite surprised at what I saw. Not only do hey have regular coverage of our games like ESPN.com, CBSSports.com, etc, they also had a few supplemental articles (under the Rantsports heading) which made me think I was on ESPNNY instead of fox. Below are some links to these stories. Whether you agree with the articles or not, it's good to see additional coverage beyond the typical "final score" write up.

Yes I agree and then the ACC will be the old Big East

If you put gravy on your pasta, what do you put on your turkey at Thanksgiving? Tomato sauce? :)

I agree with you. The football will be, just as it is now in the ACC, nothing special but it will be the best basketball conference and basketball is what matters in the ACC.

Maybe UConn and whatever other lost-in-space former Big East football team can join the Atlantic 10 to replace the teams sliding into the real Big East. Just a thought. Can someone FAX it to Storrs - a place in the middle of nowhere.

Or, oh oh oh (Phil Silvers/Sergeant Bilco - who was that character) I know, forget the Atlantic 10.
How about UConn back into the Yankee Conference. And if it doesn't exist anymore, UConn can get it rolling again, commence firing!!! In the middle of nowhere, Connecticut.

all the best

I think a (old, new, what?) Big East/ACC yearly "challenge" scenario could be fun. Would love to see teams like Butler, Marquette, GTown, St. John's etc. get a go at Duke, NC, etc. Think it could become an awesome rivalry between the conferences with all that has gone on and the history that already exists between so many of the programs involved. ACC certainly stronger with L'ville and Cuse comin' in for basketball, but it's not like Version 2.0 Big East teams are scared of 'em and I don't see any reason why this new/old/revised (realignment got me trippin' yo) conference can't compete for tops in basketball with the momentum that seems to be building.

unless the acc gets raided for 4 or more teams then they could become the A-10:)

Stiff as compared to North Carolina. When the football schools walk on the NCAA would like to see the Catholic Colleges walk.

I think we should stay away from Richmond. They don't bring anything to the table.

Agreed. The more we add beyond Xavier & Butler, the more we become Atlantic 10 The Sequel. I know people like Creighton, VCU, Dayton, etc but I think we are better off with just 9.

I'm watching Butler -VCU right now.
Both would be great additions.
Place is rocking.
