No, with offers like this one, there is no good reason to keep buying sesaon tickets, and just buy game to game.Between this offer, the low prices on Stub Hub and NO Football, there is no reason why we can't have a good crowd.
School is back in session and the game is at noon.
Cue Moose! Another good one for the longtime season ticket holders.
The other good one I love is the mystery of the 'season ticket holder gift'. No communication about it. You only hear thru the grapevine that there is a gift. And then you have to pick it up. DURING a game. I don't want to hold anything during a game. Nobody there after the game either. Is it such a difficult thing to ship the damn thing?

The plastic license plate holder? I'll give you mine. and as a season ticket holder this does bother me slightly but it will really tick me off if they're getting tickets below me.

I've spoke my peace on this. Unless something drastic happens and the rest of our games are 15k people I'm cancelling my 4 tickets I've had for a decade.

I don't even know what it is. To be honest I've had tickets for a decade and I might have got 2 gifts. And they were so unrecognizable I don't even remember what they were. Some things it seems will never grow out of mom and pop stage. But those checks in September sure look nice from all the poor schlubs who send in their season ticket money.
* And I also want the Garden packed. And on the surface 1/2 price or BOGO deals might sound nice. But also opens up gate for a Hall fan to get a nice deal. Its a double edge sword.

I think I got a magnet for RW, or a STJ plastic pin for Loughlin society. I never knew there were gifts for season ticket holders that had to be picked up.
Moose as advice, you need to separate your love of Redmen basketball from the things the schools does to alienate us, or you'll be finished far too early.

Their loss not mine. No skin off my back. As I've gotten older I've cared less and less about sports seeing it from all angles. But if I ran a business the way STJ does I'd be on the corner with a coffee cup beggin for money.

I wouldn't say "no more excuses"...to get legitimately decent seats it's still 50 bucks for the public. The problem is that SJ is a big commuter school. People go to class, then go home. So SJ students have friends who don't necessarily go to the University. This creates an issue where I can go to a game at MSG for almost nothing with great seats while my friend(s) would not be able to come sit with me, and if they wanted to, I'd be forced to pay the 50 dollar public fee. They need to have "Invite 3 of your friends" days. Each valid student ID can bring 3 people for the student price and they will be allowed to sit in the student section which is almost always vacant anyway. In my grad program, I am literally like the only guy, and while my friends like to go to games with me the student/public ticket differential arises again. Either let students bring outside friends or make the prices truly reasonable for public seats. Most college/grad students don't have 50 bucks just laying around to go see a college basketball game. Make the price more like $10 for the 200 sections, $15 for the lower 200 section, $20 for the 100 section and $25 or $30 for some of the best seats. I shouldn't have to pay another $35+ just because my friends do not attend the university.

Syracuse tickets appear to be priced lower than MSG seats, but they arein a different market, economically. The purpose of student tickets is to discount tickets for fans of the university's team, to create a loud rooting section and not to create low priced tickets for anyone to sit in.
I believe the Garden offers discounts for any students, but I'm not sure what sections that extends to. Whenver I augmented my tickets, my kids would walk up to a window, presented their student ID, and purchase low priced tickets, which were under $20. If you wanted to go with your friends, in this day and age, you could use your own student ticket and simply site with them further from the court, since the Garden draws so poorly.

Right, but that's the problem. Sitting with them further up means I have to pay another $35 bucks. I sat in 225 before and my nose was bleeding...about $35 bucks for that seat plus the tax and extra fees so it ends up more like $40 to sit in the nosebleeds. This of course is all before drinks, food, etc. The cheapest ticket plus drinks and food can easily run you $60-75. This does not include LIRR round trip or gas money. So move that from $60-75 to more like $75-90. This is why $35-40 is NOT cheap. If that price included transportation, food, a drink, etc. then it would be a great deal. Many of you older guys probably make 70k and some of you earn 100k+. College students are lucky to make 10 bucks an hour at a part time job. On stubhub before I looked for the cheapest ticket in the best available seat for the Pitt game at MSG and I believe it was in the 200 section going for at least around $40. Unfortunately, MSG doesn't care about attendance, it cares about making money, so they would probably prefer less fans and higher ticket prices than vice versa. Going to major college and professional sports games is quickly becoming something only wealthy people can afford on any kind of regularity. Just look at Yankee Stadium and Citi Field. Cheapest at Citi is $65 plus tax, $4 Metro Card, and $20 round trip LIRR ticket. We are not Duke...there is no reason some of the cheapest MSG public seats should be around $40. Bring Carnesseca prices to MSG and make Carnesseca games free and charge an extra $50 bucks for tuition so it's included. There are so many creative ticket deals I could come up with, but they would probably not rip people off, so it's not worthwhile. By the way, at MSG I was looking at SJ gear at a booth and I asked the woman at the register if there's a student discount. She looked at me like I had 5 heads, laughed and said, "No". That is very telling IMO.
Make your fans feel special and close to their team, give students/alumni 10% off a $35 shirt for crying out loud, give a free shirt with tickets, have "bring 2 friends to the game" day at all student rates, hand out thundersticks, have free meet and greets with the players and coaches, have a reward system where if you attend 10 total games at CA and MSG combined, you get a free replica jersey. This stuff is not difficult...and I'm not even qualified to do this stuff. I know you will say "all of that takes money"...well yeah it does, but you look at it as an investment. Look what happened on blackout night at CA vs. South Carolina. It was PACKED and everyone loved it. We should be doing everything it takes to draw fans, but sadly we are doing the bare minimum. College students thrive on special nights, themes, free giveaways people want like shirts, not magnets, etc. Well there was my rant...kinda got off topic towards the end sorry, but that's how it is.
