Butler 2nd time

If we can find a way to win this one we are back in business. Home games against Creighton and Depaul before the biggest stretch of the year. League is so tough this year!

Marquette blew it down the stretch, too much Carlino. Barlow did a good job denying him and hit a huge three near the end to help force OT.This guy Barlow just plays his ass off. Reminds me of Danny Calandrillo of Seton Hall.

Tuesday could be the season changer. I think that everyone on here believes that we'll be favorite and should beat DePaul and Creighton at home, so if we win @ Butler, then my belief is we to X on a four game winning streak.
I said that I don't think this team could win 4 straight in the B.E.

Please make me wrong, I love eating some sweet crow.

#1 rule entering season...don't get swept. They've dug themselves a hole with Butler and Nova thanks to Sheed's hissy-fit.

Won't be an easy game at all. Have to be at our best to beat Butler on their court.

Tough, tough game. Butler is a tournament team and exceptionally difficult to beat when they are at home.

Our guys really made things difficult by losing a few close games they should have won. Good teams respond to these situations. How they answer will tell us an awful lot about what we can expect the rest of the way. Can't get swept! .500 conference record is very attainable and .500 gets s in to the tournament this season without question.

Meaning we go 6 and 4 in regular season and maybe win one in BE tournament?

Let's say the four losses are Hoyas (2x), Butler and Nova.

The six wins would have to be : Creighton, DePaul, the Hall, X (all at home) and @ Marq and X.

That is not an easy path by any means. There are also not enough "quality" wins. I don't know that .500 with this combination of wins and losses gets us in.

Our loss in Omaha the other night might be the difference between NCAA and NIT.

Today was a good win. Let's wash, rinse, repeat for the rest of the season.

Sir' Dom needs to shut down Roosevelt Jones.

The kid Dunham is a player. Bartow, their pg, played a great game against us also last time. They have a nice team, and play well as a team. Ranked 25th, preseason figured to be at bottom rungs of the Big East - so much for prognosticators.

There is a lot to like about Butler's program. Nine of their kids are from Indiana and neighboring states Kentucky, Ohio, and IL Maybe not Looie's recruiting with a roll of subway tokens, but by all means a tank of gas. Gotta respect that.

That being said, must bring an A game to beat them. We didn't play poorly last time - it was a good, competitive game. Must bring it. We need the W.

Then who guards Chrabasz?
CO will guard Woods.
They are a tough match up.

A while back I heard a heralded coach explain that winning in basketball usually requires that you create more mismatch problems for your opponent than they create for you. Our guys are athletic and relentless, and unlike Butler, we often have 5 very athletic guys on the floor, with 4 who can lead a break and handle the ball in the open court. It makes us very dangerous in transition. All 5 guys can score inside. Jordan, Harrison, and Greene can all hit threes, which draws defenses out. What we are finding out is that it's only when we don't shoot well that we beat ourselves. We are going to lose the boards most games, but we will make it up on turnover and steals differential.
