May as well start a thread for New York's "other" team.

Pretty slow, awful start, Looks like SP will be a significant problem. Let;s hope Bird is better than he has looked so far and that Sanchez rediscovers his 2016. Don't like the fact that the clean up hitter is Holiday.

I like the Core. Let's hope the starting pitching awakens.

This isnt the year for over reaction. Goal is competitive play , be in the hunt in october and deal some of the propects we cant protect from rule 5. I wouldnt worry about bird or sanchez. Pitching is the issue for sure and Kaprelians injury doesnt help. Just enjoy the kids , this season.

vegas has the yankees winning 82 1/2 games. the yanks are predicted to finish a distant 2nd in the east to the red sucks. half the april starters are terrible. will pineda ever win 2 consecutive starts? will severino ever win 2 games in a month? start warren now. the yanks in spring training had 86 homers. their offense is fine. when didi returns, it will be better. their bullpen is good.

It's all about the pitching. I'm less enamored with Pineda then last year. Severino I am willing to give some more time. I like Warren's stuff, but he's a stabilizer for the full staff eating innings out of the pen when the starter sucks. Patience, it's a long season.

Sanchez taken out of the game with what looks like an elbow injury. Looks like he hurt it on a swing.

In the post game, Girardi looked like it was game 100. Long season ahead. To expect a young core to lead this starter-less team is crazy. Bad job during the off-season.

If things break right, they will be around what they were last year, which is a 80-something win team that were still in the WC hunt in September. Rebuilding on the fly isn't easy. The only team in the last 25 years that hasn't really bottomed out is the Yanks. Not having a losing season since 1992 is a pretty incredible stat. Let the young kids play and build towards the future. Live with the struggles, because almost all young players have them.

Another tough loss. Baltimore is going to be tough to beat.

Nice win in the home opener. Pineda proving me wrong-Perfect into the 7th.

We lose it's terrible
We win it's great
SUCH PARALLELS with St. John's!!!
Time and patience - good to better to best young players
Some will blossom
Some will surprise
Time and patience
Enjoying the young players play
And as the tradition rich programs blossom!!!
I choose to conclude...the future is bright
The Yankees win
The Yankees win
The Red Storm winsssss
:silly:

Yes, nice win. However, Pineda will strike out 8 and give up 7 hits and five runs in 5 2/3 innings next time out.

Great job by Pineda today. He looked confident throughout.

I thought Gerardo shouldn't have sent him back out for the 8th. Should have let him finish with one hit and no runs over 7 innings.

thus begins the first tryout for the 5th starter.

24-year-old left-handed starter Jordan Montgomery will draw the start for the Yanks on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays. He made just one start in the minors before the move was made to call him up, directly battling with Chad Green for the role.

Montgomery is a former fourth-round pick of the Yankees in the 2014 Draft. He spent the last three seasons in the minors, but has earned himself the fifth starter role in the Bronx after an exemplary 2016 and a dominant Spring.

saw monty in spring training against the rays. wish him well.

Ok this Met fan was at yankee stadium today. Nice win for you guys. But the brisket sandwich on the 3rd base side sucks. Is that a new cheesesteak place also ? Wasn't it Carls last year ?

Can anyone point me to good food there for next time I go to a game ? Holy shit $40 for parking now at the 161st garage. That's Nassau Mosileum prices

Aaron Judge hit an up and in fastball almost off the fists over the center field wall. Very impressive.
