I think its because especially in the Northeast Danny has been out there at events, scouting, recruiting. He's active in the market as it were. Mullin, not so much. He's a historical figure. I'm sure all the kids know his name and what he looks like on the old timers team in the video games but that's about it.
Geez, the Hurleys have only been at Rhode Island for a year, and Rhode Island is near the bottom of the A-10. Do you think that Hurley is a prominent name among Blue Chip recruits, or that his name resonates at all? He's 20 years removed from a stellar college career, and of course his pro career was hampered by a serious car accident. You might be correct about his visibility, but I find it hard to believe that recruits have any knowledge of Hurley, who was done playing before these kids started kindergarden.
