Big East Media Day

For all the criticism that D'Lo takes for being a "thug" from other teams, he is the most well spoken guy at every interview. I'm always impressed by him.

According to Lavin, this "thug" and the other seniors will have their degrees in January.

Off topic, but have to say Harrison is an impressive young man. Not too many players would have learned from their mistakes, took their medicine and got on track. This bright, engaging and hard working player will represent SJU well, as he embarks on the path to great success.

Whatever problem Arbitello has with Lavin is fine, but the way he handled it by airing his dirty laundry on Twitter is moronic. Feel free to search CTK on these forums and look at the things said about the staff when it came to CTK.

Exactly. Arbitello handled this unprofessionally period.

I've spent a lot of time in the CTK gym about a decade ago, while my kid played for their AAU program, as well as a lot of HS gyms in Queens and Nassau, and to a lesser extent the tri state area. The attitude at CTK is unlike anywhere I've ever been. They see themselves as an iconic sports franchise, not just a hs program. They think they are better than everyone else, and that anyone should be privileged to deal with them. I'm sure with all of the 4-star bball prospects they've had, many college coaching staffs were all too anxious to oblige them. To denigrate the SJU program because Lavin and staff didn't exactly kiss their butts sounds to me exactly like some of the people I encountered there.

This is a duplicate post-sorry.

Took your advice and did a search. He certainly does seem incredibly bitter about us not taking Jon Severe.

Equally interesting are Arbitello's comments when Delarosa committed (courtesy of Tom in Salem).
SJU has Delarosa currently listed as 322 pounds, that would mean Arbitello was not being straight--or that Delarosa actually gained 50 lbs over the summer!

Arbitello said Delarosa is at 266 pounds, lost 100 lbs since freshman year. Adonis told me in Feb. he wanted to get to 250 by next year

Ben Baskin ‏@Ben_Baskin 22m
Arbitello said Lavin "didn't want to change his body," called his large form an intangible, "just make it a little more muscular." #sjubb

Lav refuses to conform, hope desco doesnt see this :p

That looks bad. He forgot to ask about tHe dress code?

Oh geez.
First the tie, now he can't even wear a suit?

... just sign Briscoe and get the team ready to play ball. Because if we're talking about this BS again in December and January, it'll be because there's nothing to like about what's happening on the court.
You're awesome just for the simple fact that you aren't joking.

Isn't Coach going to Milan today? Who wants to fly in a suit. :)

I absolutely refuse to wear a suit or even jeans on a plane. Only sweatpants or shorts for maximum comfort. Probably the reason I have only been bumped to first class once without paying
I am with you and I am on a plane several times a month. Even to the point where, if I have to dress up (never a tie just to tick off Desco), I will change when I land. I know I am strange but I am never comfortable on the plane. I always wear my family/friends fdny gear so I get upgraded often :)

Military fatigues also work wonders. People trip all over themselves these days to give up their seat for a person in uniform.

I've changed after meetings in airplane bathrooms just so I can wear sweats. Tough to do when you have to make sure you get in that bathroom 1st before anyone pees on the floor.

That fdny gear thing is a good idea. My brother is a helicopter pilot for nypd and I have some gear from him so I might try that since I have 8 flights in the next 3 weeks. I wonder if that will work on the international flights. With my luck they won't let me on the plane wearing it in Argentina. Might be better off with the St Johns gear-New Pope connection there :)

I don't know what I'd do if I had to fly as much as you each month. It's a serious bummer flying especially if I can't get overnight flights

/quote] you do realize that not only did you just describe Lavin but you also described Al Sharpton

"Senior Jamal Branch said that the goal is just go out there and give it our all.” The guard also had an explanation for the Robert Morris debacle.“Our goal was to make the NCAA tournament. We were upset. We didn’t want to be in the NIT,” he said."

That's funny, didn't he have the game of his life that night.
Should have won more games than. They were not exactly Alabama in the Sugar Bowl and Not the NC game last season after winning 3 in 4 years. Some of you guys are shameless in wearing military or firemen garb if it is not yours. Ever think that if there is an emergency people may look to you for help you may not be equipped to provide.
