As someone who got excoriated for mentioning the tie issue last season, I saw this earlier but held my tongue.

I always say I love NYC, but I am clearly a liar because I wore shorts today instead of a suit.

Whatever problem Arbitello has with Lavin is fine, but the way he handled it by airing his dirty laundry on Twitter is moronic. Feel free to search CTK on these forums and look at the things said about the staff when it came to CTK.

I absolutely refuse to wear a suit or even jeans on a plane. Only sweatpants or shorts for maximum comfort. Probably the reason I have only been bumped to first class once without paying

That said, it is concerning that we have made that impression on a significant local high school coach.

Arbitello is the liar. He has said on numerous occasions that coaches from St Johns have not been at CTK to recruit players. That is a blatant lie. I have attended games at CTK with St Johns coaches. I am not sure what Arbitello has against Lavin but it is obvious that he will stoop to any level to hurt him, even outright lies.
Additionally, he is probably upset that even though he made these same accusations previously, Adonis committed to St Johns. Arbitello was the one who put it out there that Lavin did not go to CTK's championship game and we were in danger of Adonis not committing. We all see how that worked out.
Arbitello has lost all credibility since for whatever reason, he dislikes Lavin and will resort to lying if he thinks it will hurt Lavin. Today's tweets were totally unnecessary. If the Big East is upset about what Lavin and the team wore to Media Day, I guess Ms. Ackerman of Mr. jackson will let him know.
Personally, it looks to me as if Lavin and the team are showing that they are united and are repping our school.

Yep. I pretty much look like a bum when I fly although when wearing sweats they are always my St Johns sweats accompanied by a St Johns sweatshirt :)
 
The arbitello guy sounds like a guy who got turned down by a girl for a prom date and still trashes her 10 years later

Exactly, mase! Arbitello comes off as petulant. Bush league move by him. It makes him look bad, moreso than Lavin and the staff, at the end of the day.
 
Classy move by Arbitello. Starting a public fight with the best college program in the area? What a way to help your current and future players. Also good job putting your former center and his brother in an awkward situation.

There are plenty of kids on CTK that would do anything for a chance to play at St. John's.
