Big East 2025 Regular Season and Conference Tournament Champions - St. John's Red Storm

I have been fortunate to have experienced seeing the Johnnies win big back to the time my dad took me to Tony Jackson led games as a tyke. Having season tickets to Mullin led Final Four era games and also enjoying Sealy and Artest squads success, I am lucky. Frankly the post Looie days have not been great as a whole, but my son and I stayed the course.

Being very relevant again became a passing dream, but up pops Father Shanley and Rick Pitino. I will never forget this awesome season with a gritty bunch, brilliant coach and awakened fan base in the Big Apple. There is work to be done, but I will always cherish this year even if we fall short of a national championship. Pitino said recently he was going to bring so much winning here, that when he retires down the road, the program will be in excellent shape and the HC job a highly attractive one. That is true success and perhaps one of those turning points we’ll always value and remember.

I was on the Long Island Rail Road on my way to the game, and I started getting emotional just thinking about what this team could accomplish today. The idea of St. John’s winning the regular season title after everything we’ve been through as fans was overwhelming.

During the game, I thought it was a sloppier performance than usual—too many turnovers, not as sharp as they can be—but when we won, the emotions hit me again. My dad started taking me to games in 1989 when I was a little boy, and this program has been a part of my life ever since. Hopefully, we can keep this going, win the Big East Tournament, and finally make that dream of winning the NCAA Tournament a reality.

With NIL money and Rick Pitino at the helm, I truly believe we have the best chance to make that happen. I remember being upset when Pitino didn’t want Posh Alexander back, but looking back, he knew exactly what he was doing. Now I have complete faith that he knows what players we need to get us to the top."

I may be a minority of one here, but while winning the regular season title is a great step forward for the program it is not a "now I can die happy" moment for me.

I don't think anyone other than the fans of a particular program, statisticians and hardcore junkies remember regular season titles.

It's the conference tournament winners and deep NCAA runs that get remembered. Lose the conference but make legendary BET run, get to the Elite 8 or Final 4 or beyond - people remember that.

Let's take the next step to having a truly memorable year!

To go with the guys he didn’t want how about the 2 guys he brought. Danis carried us last year and the majority of this board
wanted Ayo gone. From what I see he is more than capable of playing in the Big East and he still has a year to go. I think we need
to keep trusting Rick, Kull and most importantly Father Shanley. Without Father Shanley we are probably playing in the 8/9
game next week

I sort of agree, sort of disagree. For someone like myself who sadly and unfortunately only began really getting into this team in the early 00's, this is a memory and season I will always cherish, no matter how the rest of the year plays out. With what has happened with this program the past 25 years, I didn't think a moment like this was even possible. So while I hope and dream for more, this one just feels great to have witnessed.

100 percent agree.

None of us want to diminish the BE regular season title. What a season and what an accomplishment! Without question, 17-2 is a better measure of the best team conference than the BE tournament. Buuuuuutttt...

Cutting down nets in San Antonio, at a regional final, or a BE tournament will be the moments that get remembered. I'm looking forward to some or all of those happening.

I'm with you on some level. For the longest time, this team gave us something to root for. Then it went down the tubes. I'm enjoying this ride. I'll enjoy it even more with a deep BET run and/or a deep Madness. One and dones in the tournaments will disappoint me...but it won't totally take away the luster of what they did.

I'm just hoping this group of young fans don't have to wait another 40 years as we did to walk among the peacocks.

It's been an absolutely great season thus far. Couldn't have asked for more. 35 year season ticket holder. My son, born in 1985, is named Christopher, for obvious reasons. My wife used to change him into his PJs on the crowded bleachers seats, JJ 13 & 14, when we still brought him to games as an infant.

We just sold our house in Nassau County (headed to a new condo Community in western Suffolk County), so we'll finally be off to our Florida home Tuesday.

I tell you all this because I hope I don't jinx this incredible season by now watching our beloved Redmen from Florida instead of NY. I know it's crazy, but I really have felt that watching them live this season or at home in the same St. John’s sweatshirt (washed in between games) in NY as opposed to some other state, is a big reason for their success this season.

Such is the life of a 55 year fan!
