Big East 2025 Regular Season and Conference Tournament Champions - St. John's Red Storm

I was also just thinking this is probably the best time we could've possibly had Rick at St. John's. Shanley is the first university President who's competent and serious about investing in the college basketball program. Kull is the perfect institutional bridge to Repole (and other high end donors), and can execute a plan. Like you said, this isn't a flash in the pan with good players like other years.

If he was hired four years ago, he would've been frustrated with higher ups + had to deal with COVID years, and probably still young enough to contemplate leaving for another job. He was never ever coming here at any other point in his career.

We're really lucky and I finally think things are breaking our way in a big way for years to come.
The stars aligned for sure.

Coaching counts (so does NIL $$$). I know that it is maybe trite, but I think that not only could we have won each of the games we lost, but we should have won each of them (not that we should have won all of them because losses happen). I don't think that any other team in the country has had a better season frankly, and no other team has been in each and every of their games like we have. It is astounding to think.

This is an historic run, and one that StJ has seen only a few times in its history. Not sure what will happen going forward this year (I think literally anything could happen), but it is imperative that we all try to enjoy the ride. It may not happen again, at least not in some of our lifetimes... (self included).

Great, great season. Not going to say to was worth the wait (because it has been really painful at times to be a fan), but certainly grateful to see it.
To your point, I feel like there have been so many games this year it felt like we didn't come close to playing our best game, and we still won those games, most of them with ease. Just a special team.

I still can't believe we haven't had one of those games where it all goes wrong and we just get blown out.

Why SJU hasn’t been blown out is because of Pitinos strategy. You can have terrible shooting games but if you are willing to break your back playing defense you will be in every game. No bad games playing defense if you are willing work like dogs and this team has bought in.

I definitely was on the verge of tears. Been a long haul.

St Johns was prepared for a celebration.

Wilcher playing with confetti like a kid throwing autumn leaves in the air was priceless.

Best thing about it is there wasn't a feeling like this is the mountain top. Lots of work and wins to accomplish.

Incredible season. And we all lived to see it. I hope Paul got a seat next to Looie and Lapchick to watch this one.

We owe this to Rick and Shanley, God bless those 2 men.
Without them this isn't possible.

It all begins with God though, I truly believe he sent them here.

Rick is greatness, someone like him does't come to a small school like SJU.
Look at all the top state schools, mega bucks, facilities, and gorgeous campuses, and Rick comes to us???

We are truly blessed.

Don’t forget about Mike Repole

2 weeks ago maybe 3 OLV72 was tellling our 114 crew that if we win this that that means more to him than even an ncaa win. Of course I told him he was nuts

But then in the last 2 weeks I realized I’ve only been a fan since 87 and Ive never seen this and OLV and Ralph while seeing it in 85 they’ve been fans longer and Brian definitely has a feel for a prescient moment .

They are ( were ) right: this is better than the Mets winning. Other than 86. Don’t tell OLV though he gets too cocky
