Every coach since CYO 2nd grade tells you to closeout. They are lazy defensively.

I was worried about playing Marquette because they can light us up. I never expected Georgetown to put up 48 in a half. Need to play much better defense is an understatement.

I'd love to play a 1-3-1, as it would play into the hands of Simon and Ponds in their disruption and allow us to trap on the wings.

We're going to have to disrupt their guards and make 'em turn it over, and get physical with Govan and Derrickson.

Looking at the box score and notice Georgetown has 14 assists on 16 made baskets. Pretty good.

We're shooting 16/28 from the floor, dogs are 16/32.
The 3 is killing us, obviously. Us 3/11, 9/16 dogs.

most of the time anyqone that plays us lights it up from outside Couldn't see any of the game but it does not look good from what I am reading

Losing Simon on those early fouls for a spell hurt our ability to get some steals, easy buckets & take advantageously of our guard superiority. Let’s see what early part of second half brings. And of course absence of closing out well portends doom. :)

Only person on team who is remotely physical is Alibegovic.

Ponds appears hurting in the last few minutes of the first half. Clark needs to play some defense and he and Ahmed need to shadow Derrickson. Alibegovic needs to poke Govan in the eye for us to win this one.
Can Georgetown keep shooting lights out?

Georgetown is shooting well because we are not defending. We are also shooting 57% overall and perfect from foul line. Agree we need to pressure their guards more and turn the ball over a lot more. Good news is only 1 foul on Owens & Clark.

As another poster said. Simon's absence hurt us in 1st half. Here's to a winning 2nd half...and the game.

This is why we absolutely need that grad transfer/JUCO big. We have no one who can deal with Govan. Hanging in there though!
