So very happy to see this great effort and result.

But, not to be a downer, I’m truly bummed that this team didn’t show up like this more often.  And I know they were playing DePaul.

After one of the first OOC games, I made the foolish statement that this team could win the conference a go to the sweet 16.  Seeing this performance, I think those things could have been possible.

The season isn’t over and maybe we have a run to make. But I’m left asking why they underperformed the talent and depth on this team.  Coaching?   Maybe.  But I think maybe they did not realize the kind of energy and effort necessary to win every night.   Too many complacent games.

But I’ll enjoy this game and whatever comes hereafter.  Just disappointed this was an outlier.

Champ and Posh awesome, but sharing wealth with game balls to bench guys, Smith, Dylan & Nyiwe

Too often our hopes are dashed as this team follows up encouraging wins with duds. Time to break that trend this week.
Yup and thats why I think Vegas isnt going to buy this win and Nova will be a 9.5 favorite tomorrow.

Big TEAM WIN with our diamonds sparkling.

Great win, but now you get Villanova.  The absolute worst match-up, completely different styles, and for some reason refs let them get away with delay of game after every made St. John's basket, they literally just let the ball roll after a made basket and don't pick it up until after about 5-10 seconds have gone off the game clock.  Kills the pace of game for our guys.

The win tonight I believe gives us a huge momentum advantage coming out tomorrow night.  We need to use that and get up on them early and hope they have an off night from 3.

Its possible but this is a tough draw.  Nova got knocked out in their 1st game of the tourney last year.  What are the chances that happen again?

So many guys played great tonight but I think Nyiwe made me most happy. I'm not sure he could have started on a good D-2 program at the beginning of the year, but as of right now he definitely looks like a Big East-quality backup big man. And looked like a co-starter tonight.

Rest assured tomorrow’s game will be officiated differently, you have to play smart and disciplined against Nova. Amazing with such a short roster they rarely get into foul trouble. Well, let’s give it a shot!

Spot on, Paultz. Smith, Wusu and Nyiwe were absolutely awesome tonight
22 assists and only 2 turnovers the entire game
This was the St John's team that we expected to see all season long
Do we have another one in us tomorrow against Villanova?
Odds are probably against us but I expect a highly competitive game
GO JOHNNIES!!!!  You can do it!!!

He looked like the best Johnnie on the floor besides Champ for pivotal stretches in the first half.  He was in the middle of multiple deciding plays that won't show up in box score.

Maybe we're finally due!  But a huge mountain nonetheless.  I agree that officiating will be key.  What an effort across the board tonight.  Such an enjoyable game to watch, after the initial 5 minutes.

He just needs to be more disciplined and stay in the paint. Otherwise I was very happy with his performance tonight.
