(BET @MSG-Game-2) Marquette, Thur. Mar. 14, 7pm, FS1 / 970AM

I’m very weary of this game. As Mike Zaun pointed out beating a team as good as Marquette and shutting down a player as good as Howard three times in one season is quite a feat.

Also, another phrase he used I don’t like is “house money.” Hopefully the team doesn’t think this game is “house money” because in those situations we’re usually toast right from the jump.

I really don’t think we’re as big a lock for the NCAAs as you guys think. We need this tonight.

This will be a good pre game rally for whoever is interested . Love meeting and speaking to St. John’s fans !

Howard deserves POY , but I know Ponds will have something to say about that tonight ! Let’s gooooooooo St. John’s !!!!!!!

Don't get me wrong, we all want this win badly. But we should still be one of the last byes regardless. We now have 21 wins which seems to be the magic number to be safe these days. You also have to consider just how weak the bubble is. Didn't a bunch of bubble teams just lose too? Beating DePaul last night gives us a very good chance of one of the last bye slots in the 1st round but beating Marq tonight would 100% across the board have us in without any sweat. We should be trying to win the whole damn thing. If there's a year to do it, it's this year. I really meant house money from a fan perspective.

This team handles prosperity like crap. I wouldn’t be surprised if they look at it the same way you (the fan) does.

Considering we play a 6 to (tops) 7-man rotation, avoiding playing next Tuesday is a MUST. The one thing that maybe gets me thinking they can win a Tourney game is that they do play with a crazy sense of urgency when they absolutely have to.

If SJU continues on its season long practice it will come up with a soft effort tonight and bad loss. A head scratching no enthusiasm effort following an impressive win has been the norm. The fact that most experts have the bid clinched and the game is less than 24 hrs after their last game makes a letdown even more predictable.
However if they come to play like last night they can beat Marq.

I think they have to at least make it a competitive game if they want to secure a bid. They can't have a major letdown after last night. A blowout vs a close loss may sway the thinking of the committee. Hope they can pull out a win because if they can than they would play one of Seton Hall or GTown, which I would consider a very winnable game. Get this one and then play with house money plus it would be awesome to see SJ play in Friday and Saturday games. We are...

This is a new 'winner goes on / loser goes home' season.
Hope the guys play tough and hard and pull it out!
Expect it to be a nail-biter--because as the saying goes, it's a hurdle to beat a good team 3x in a short season, but our guys are still playing for 'respect' and dance tickets.
Let's go Johnnies!

Seriously? The win tonight got them out of Dayton. They will be in win or lose tomorrow.
I so err on the side of caution.

We lose tomorrow, there will be talk of nit, coaching changes, and failed season
. Only from the Usual Suspects ...
Kaiser Sozi and I will be advocating for a coaching change until an actual coach and qualified staff are hired but it doesn't mean we can't celebrate and enjoy this team's accomplishments. Who cares if they didn't achieve my meager pre season expectations. At least they should dance.

But , Keaton is the Man .

It's been what, 20 years since we made the Big East tournament semi finals? Will that change tonight?
