We should have a thread on beer people try and like aside from the lobster roll thread :)

Tried tonight a Fire Island Red Wagon IPA and loved it

Also came across this article beer lovers might like of beers to try before we die

Am proud to say that when I saw the article earlier today you immediately came to mind.

Weihenstephaner Hefeweiszen.

Bavarian State brewery, oldest brewery in the world (1004).

And like that TV add with the two older perhaps British gentlemen:
Brilliant!
But to satisfy the mods, topic rules and connect to SJU Hoops, the beer and lobster rolls
MUST be available at Carnesecca!
Add a little Vino to the
Menu and Louie himself would approve.
Alright MJMAHERJR?

nice topic maher. would it be hijacking the thread if we merged preference in cannabis strains? indica here with a nice cold Krušovice Imperial

I think we should be a little more specific about our beer topics. We taling best beer overall? Favorite of a certain style? My buddy had gotten me into some different styles of beers last year. Had some truly amazing ones and rally expanded my palate. Found some real rare ones too.

Fwiw, one of the best beer menus around is out in Rocky Point Long Island at a place called BBD's. Anybody who is into beer should look into it. The owner travels around the country to obtain some of em im told.

Best beer I've ever had is Firestone Walker's Sucaba, a Bourbon barrel barleywine. Ordered a 22oz bottle online and paid regular retail price of about 22 bucks, but is exceedingly hard to find. Absolutely amazing brew, which they have at BBD's but you'll pay a pretty penny due to rarity.

also had a founders centennial ipa last week that was real good

My favorite beer to keep in stock is Founders All Day IPA from the can. IPA's taste better from cans than bottles. Try Ballast Point Skulpin or Big eye which are pricer but very good. And if you can find one, Stone's "Enjoy By" IPA is very special.

along the lines of what MCNPA is saying, just like wine, what you are doing / having with it can be a big difference maker. For example there are times when a stout or bock is great but others where something really light is great. In AZ I've been to Pinnacle Peak Patio a few times. The blonde ale from their microbrew is fantastic on a hot, dry evening.

Fun place which I hear is closing or at least relocating to take advantage of selling their valuable real estate. Wear a tie there and they cut it off. They are hanging all over the restaurant. Order your steak well done and they bring you a leather cowboy boot on a plate...

I had the pleasure of visiting the Czech republic last year and discovered we are armatures here as far as beer goes. The Czechs drink more beer than anyone on the planet, 145 - 155 liters per person per anum. .It is good, it is plentiful, and it is cheap. It seems each town has its own brewery, and even their Budweiser is better than ours (Budvar). In the bars you can get a pilsner urquell for 20 - 40 crowns ( 1 - 2 dollars) in Prague or if you go to the countryside of Bohemia or Moravia it goes down to 10 - 25 crowns. By the way that is for a 1/2 liter glass. .you Also get to choose your strength, as youcan get your beer much stronger than American beers.

If you are in Europe give it a shot, you can also see some awesome castles.

The Bohemians are first cousins to the Bavarians. An argument could be made as to who makes the best beer. My personal choice due to ancestry is the Bavarians.

BTW, some more beer facts. Germany has more breweries than in all of the rest of Europe combined. Bavaria has more breweries than all of the rest of Germany combined.

Any good beer selections will do

Slightly different beer topic. Here in the US I don't love guiness. In ireland I thought it was amazing.

One night we were in Belfast at the Crown Saloon which is a must go if anyone is ever there as it's one of the oldest bars in belfast with a ton of history and it was one of those nights I was determined to try virtually every beer on tap. Long story short at this pub literally over the course of 2 hours we have about 10 new friends who were locals there and since I'm trying every beer on tap pretty much I ask them what are they drinking because I figured the next beer I'm going to have is whatever they were having because it certainly didn't look like guinness.

The beer these local portestants were drinking ? Coors Lager. LOL I couldn't believe it. I'm in freaking Northern Ireland and the locals were drinking coors

In Copenhagen I loved the Carlsberg and went to their brewery. Here it's ok but doesn't taste the same

Most interesting. Stay thirsty my friend.
