BE POY

As a freshman, he went for 32 in an OT game against us in January, and was pretty lights out from 3. Since then, he's been an above average roll player. A complete head scratcher. Maybe I just didn't see enough Villanova games...

I can't believe anyone here is shocked Arch got named as co-POY. The shocker to me is that he split it with someone.

He's an amazing PG who shoots 40% from the field, 36% on 20 ft 3's, and averages an astonishing 3.6 assists per game (Dom had 3.1). Does this hands down POY even get drafted or have a shot at an NBA career? I say no.

I didn't say he deserved the honor. Just that I'm not shocked. He'll play overseas for a couple years and then come home to coach college ball.

Arch isn't even close to being Villanova's POY

This is rubbish, Beast. C'mon guys! I felt the honor should have gone to Dom and Dunn, but let's not go overboard knocking Arch. He is the engine of that Nova machine. They are top five in the country and went 29-2 in a conference comprised of 60% tournament teams. They are way better than any other team in the conference.

He was second on the team in scoring, first in assists, tied for second in steals, had a better than 2:1 assist to TO ratio, shot 37% from three and 40% from the field. Most of all, his # was called when the game was on the line and the kid delivers every time.

I have no doubt he could score 15-18 if his team needed it.

The award isn't based on what one could have done. If a Nova player deserved it based on the team's success, it should have gone to Hilliard. Frankly, I thought it was going to be either Dunn or Hilliard.

But how can anyone really think he wasn't deserving? Hilliard doesn't create much of his own offense...he relies a lot on others to get him open jumpers. Again, I would have picked Pointer and/or Dunn, but I think everyone is making way too big a deal of this. He is very deserving.

Pinkston. Of all the guys in the league its he I wished for to be a Johnny. It's guys like him who make the Archies and everyone else on his team look better. He even could of made us look good in the half court.

If we had Pinkston this year, we'd be serious national championship contenders imo. Heck if we had Rico Gathers we would be too. We are one Post scorer away.

Rumors now floating around that Dunn and Arch share the award. That would be even more of a shocker.
there's no way archiedjackamo wins that award.

I think Arch is a great player. He's patient...doesn't force ANYTHING and does what his team needs at that moment. He's also as clutch as they come. I feel like Nova is too loaded for him to win the award, though. You can make a case for every single starter on Nova being all-league, and a player would really have to perform off the charts to overcome that and be named P.O.Y. IMO.

Well I have broken my posting hiatus at least for one post because, surprise, surprise I agree with you 100%. Archidiacono IS a great player. Period, end of story.

No one disagrees that he is a great player. No way he deserves player of the year though.

If you are starting a team and you have to choose Dom or Archie, I think the choice is easy. Dom!

Not pure rubbish though. :)

He is a scrappy, solid player. But look at his stats from his junior year also. He isn't a great shooter. If he scored 15-18 per game with his stats, his team would not win as many games.

I disagree, he's a very good player, not a great player. Sterling Gibbs is better than him in pretty much every category. Would he have been player of the year if he hadn't clocked him? No. Dunn should have been POY by himself.

Next time read my post please; I didn't comment one way or the other on POY. But thanks for telling me what everyone thinks, must be tough having to live with that kind of knowledge.
