True, but there is no guarantee that Nova would be better off with Dunn instead of Arch.

No question Arch could have padded the stats more if he wanted.
 
What a joke. And Lavin voted for him, too. Maybe Willard voted for him too because he felt bad for the Gibbs forearm to the head.

Arcidiacano averaged 10 points and 3.6 assists! Rysheed Jordan had better numbers than this kid! I could understand deciding between Dunn and Henton for a winner on that team, but Arc over Hilliard (or anybody else for that matter) is ridiculous.

When I think of the POY in this league, I don't even think Arcidiacano is on my top 6. The fact that at least 3 coaches voted for him is a disgrace to this league.
 
political maneuvering like Thompson not voting for Mullin or a couple of coaches picking Arcidiacano as a safe pick thinking no one else would vote for him?
 
What a joke! Really? Arch?!? Really? When I think POY, I think of someone we have to game plan for defensively or work around offensively. I don't feel that way at all about Arch. Solid player, yes. Would I want him on my team, yes. POY, NO FREAKING WAY!
 
I didn't realize there was a Sportsmanship Award as well.. Barlow must give a firm ass grab after the game.

DOn't know for sure but Lavin was quoted before the Nova game saying he thought Arch was the MVP of the conference. Logically that would indicate how he was voting.
 
I hope Arch feels nothing but pride in this honor.

That said, many years ago baseball moved the date they named the mvp to after the world series. They did this because there was a perception that once named mvp, a player felt so much pressure to excel that he failed.

Hopefully this phenomenon will turn out to be true in Arch's case, and his game will fall apart and 'Nova will lose. And I hope even more that it'll be against us.

If it makes Desco feel any better I heard Lavin was wearing a tie when he voted for Arch. On the downside he wore the tie over a sweatsuit. :)

Pinkston. Of all the guys in the league its he I wished for to be a Johnny. It's guys like him who make the Archies and everyone else on his team look better. He even could of made us look good in the half court.

Guess you haven't been watching our games, because we play pretty damn well in the half court. And against zones, too!

But I sure agree with you about Pinkston. If they'd made him poy, I'd have had no argument at all.
 
I can't believe anyone here is shocked Arch got named as co-POY. The shocker to me is that he split it with someone.
