Baylor

The raw stats are there, but we can't rebound. Though we have a good chance of being blown out later on due to the huge rebound differences and our cooled shooting, we are showing that we truly do have some good pieces here. We have played some of the top mid majors and now one of the top majors. Hopefully this experience vs. great competition will let us stomp through the cupcakes and upset some big guys come conference play.

I also really want to see what Marco's 3 pt stroke is like, but he gets no separation at all. The defenders are on him like glue. By the way I was shocked at halftime the commentators in the studio gave SJ zero credit. We are a bunch of freshmen and sophs and we are playing a mammoth Baylor team ranked 16th. We are down by 3. They basically laughed and said we have no chance in the 2nd half which pissed me off. Yes we probably get blown out if the rebounding stays dominated by Baylor, but damn give us a break.
 
Dom is the only non-guard we have playing with balls. I can't wait to see how Garrett responds after that posterization. I think he'll really step it up.

Christian Jones, through four games, is one of the worst at 50/50 balls I'v ever seen. If I was Coach Lavin I would have lost it on him on the loose ball he lost to Pierre Jackson.How do you not average 8-10 boards with that body? Damn do we need Sanchez.

The defense has been atrocious...there has been no offensive continuity....and we are only down one possession. PLEASE let's steal this one!!!!

Shows how talented we are and how good we CAN be if we get things together a bit more.

We have a burly 6'8 brute sitting there on the bench but Lavin refuses to let him in. We'll just keep getting outrebounded and dunked on because rebounding is not a priority for him.

Redshirt a Senior big who can give you a chance still makes zero sense.
 
I can't believe we only got 8 rebounds. We are giving up far too many offensive rebounds. If we can pull down some defensive rebounds and keep playing good D we could win this game.

I say we have to play a lot more man to man. We may have to abandon the zone entirely. Jefferson is killing us...who wants him? Maybe you tell Christian Jones to keep his back on him and drive him out every time the ball is in the air. Sampson?

Gotta get something going inside on offense. We can't win this game shooting from deep. Key to this game may be Obekpa. Take Austin one on one and stay out of trouble. He's far more comfortable in man than zone at this point. We need this game fellas!

You keep talking about other teams' 3 point shooting like its miraculous when all it is is their best shooters hitting wide open threes. Maybe you should be tired of our young inconsistent team losing other teams' best shooters at crucial moments in games. That's what's happening...Wilson, Canaan, Heslip, Jackson, they're just doing what they always do... when they're left open.

True, we should be covering better, but even watching NBA games I don't see this many effortless 3's even wide open. I know the NBA line is further back, but still. Just sick of getting torched by 3's for the 2nd year now.
 
Danger the second half is we get a little cold spell, get hesitant on offense and they blow us out with steal run-outs and missed shot putbacks. D-lo, O and karr have to stay out of foul trouble and on the floor. PS can we run a few plays to get Marco and D-lo open 3's from the wing. And what about both of them in the game together on the wings, spread the floor to open it up for Phil to drive or kick to a wing.

I don't care what you say. Heslip is making anything he throws up. Even wide open you would be hard pressed to make all of those. Sick of auto's from 3 on every single opponent.
 
How about playing Harrison and Borgault at the same time to really spread the floor and that would allow at least one of them to be open.
