I think he is averaging about a board, block and foul per minute so that sounds about right.

We should smoke these guys. Hopefully we get Temple after, they look pretty good so far.

Well then, let's hope he gets at least 25 minutes of PT.

Johnnies, playing down to level of opponent in a quiet arena, pull away after close first half & win by 15.

Cal has the talent to beat high majors even if they have a disastrous season. I'd like to see us roll over them in a big way 30-40 pts so it stands out when we next match up down the road.
Temple is impressive and has me worried. Roll over Cal and beat Temple and we are firmly in the top 25.

Temple has a style to be the most difficult of the 3 teams imo. First things first, beat Cal!

Hopefully play Temple and beat them I would assume only would help our case at the end of year.

Dunphy is an excellent coach
He deserves to do well in his last season
Just not against St John's!!!

Our bench through 3 games - I am not including Keita who played 14 minutes, 0-1 from the field, 0 points, 4 boards, 1 block, 5 fouls.

132 minutes
9-29 from the field
2-9 from 3
3-7 F/T
23 points
12 rebounds
3 assists
8 turnovers
3 steals
3 blocks
19 fouls

So for every 30 minutes of production (rounded)
5 points
3 rebounds
1 assist
2 turnovers
1 steal
1 block
4+ fouls

Not a strength at this point imo. If Keita returns healthy for the Big East season this team is more talented but somewhat similar to our 2014-15 team in composition.

Just realized that Cal meant Berkeley. I thought it was one of the other California schools. Knowing this, I'll take a special interest in thoroughly thrashing this team tomorrow.

Interesting comparison. So who is the Chris Obekpa of this years team? Hopefully, no one.

Why’s that?
Not enough wild fires and smoke and refugees and panic for your taste, that you won’t be satisfied with a 15-point win, but crave a 30-point thrashing?
Be careful about the blowback from mean-spirits, man.

SJU should be on a mission this year, Ponds, Simon, Clark, know what happened the last 2 year, they were here, I'm sure Heron and LJ know too.
My guts says that they're gonna use being on national TV (ESPN2) as their coming out party, and put everyone on notice, this is not that same team from the last 2 years.
Thinking we're gonna rock the Barclay center: 44-21 halftime 95-53. Ponds 30, Heron 25, LJ 24.
Strong defense, press the s* out of cali and keep moving the rock on offense.

It's our time now guys. REPRESENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Giving 14.5 in Vegas. Hopefully they come out aggressive and continue the high level of play from last game at the Rac.

The Temple - VCU game should be interesting
Both are undefeated thus far (Temple is 4-0 and VCU is 3-0)
Temple has defeated LaSalle, Detroit, Georgia and Loyola (MD)
VCU has wins over Gardner-Webb, Hampton and Bowling Green
Either should be a good test in our second game of the tournament
I love Heron's comments in the article - he says all the right things
GO JOHNNIES!!!

Keita is the closest we have to Obekpa in style of play.
