Balamou To Play

I like this move. Felix is very athletic and we need all the offensive help we can get. He should at least be a solid bench player.
 
It's a good move. Balamou is a good player and we can use his depth. No need to redshirt him. Today wasn't a good day for him to get baptized though as it was a nail biter. He'll certainly play this week though.
 
I think that is a good decision on the coaches part.
5 minutes a game will be great for this season.

I'm sure this has been covered in another thread, but what is the popular thought on Gift? I could certainly see the rationale for a redshirt if Sanchez is eligible, but if he's not seems like there would be an important role for Gift, not to mention sheer depth/foul trouble/injury insurance.

Coach continues to hedge at least slightly, including in the linked article. Does Decision on Gift continue to be linked to Orlando, hence the holdup on an official decision? Is the lean toward Gift redshirting any indication that Orlando has a greater chance of being eligible than it seems recently? Just seems like plaguing without both leaves us unecessarily thin.

Say it is so... Fingers crossed. If we get those 2 cleared, not only we dancin, we advancin... We'll be a terror with that kind of depth and talent...

I was beginning to think we werent going to get Sanchez, that is why I thaught coach was making a mistake by redshirting Gift. If it comes to fruition that would be excellent and we could have a really nice year.

I just posted (on another thread) that "we're so close to making that proverbial leap."

If Sanchez and Bourgault are finally eligible, then we make that leap this season. I can't stress enough how important those two will mean to us going forward. They'll not only bring experience, but they'll bring skill, size, and depth.

Getting those two, as well, as Branch in December..... Oh, man!

Marillac is correct. Skill is what those two bring. Right now we still have some raw athletes who need time and seasons to hone their skill. Bourgault brings big time shooting skill and Sanchez brings size, skill and maturity. We'll be extremely hard to stop with those two and Branch.
 
I don't think Lavin wouldv'e redshirted Gods'Gift unless he was confident Sanchez was going to be cleared. So I am pretty optimistic

I am suprisingly fine with it after seeing the new guys in action. I was never very high on GG and I think it's safe to say that all three of the new guys are as good or better. Also, we have Garrett who played over GG anyway up front last year. The question really becomes is GG worth it as the 5th guy up front or is it better to play it safe knowing Sanchez and Sampson might be gone?
 
Ok... Take this with a grain of salt, 2 different people, both reliable have said both should ve good to go "very" soon.....

After watching yesterday's game, I don't envy Lavin...it will be diificult to manage time for these guys...Nice problem to have!
