You can see the other St John’s players getting into the Zuby chants. Just an absolute phenomenal job by our fans down there. Zuby will remember that the rest of his life

Very athletic, good passing team but undersized at the forward spot, suspect shooting and free throw shooting.
Of course this team doesn’t have Ron Artest or 3 future pros but is deeper with a much better coach.
Btw the people who complain about Luis are crazy! Has his faults but is the most skilled offensive player we have had since Mo Harkless.
Between him crying the night before and how happy he was with the fan embrace, it reminds you that while there is a NIL $ era that many of these players are kids or young adults still maturing.
Ran into more than half the team just during course of walking around and every one of them was a great representative and genuinely nice.

Yeah don’t see that comparison but think Luis gets drafted and plays in pros.
SJU should honor the Dwight Hardy squad that would have made dance noise if DJ was not hurt. Good karma potential for current team.

I dont think anyone is complaining about luis anymore. Last year, the criticism was warranted. He was way too inconsistant and at times, flat out terrible.
He is greatly improved this year and is probably our best player. I hope he keeps improving.

Yes, NIL takes precedent, but once a number is locked, moments like this will resonate with parents and could push a kid towards SJU.

Honestly, several factors in Zuby not getting killed by fans.
1. Kid was one of main reasons we were in position to win in first place.
2. Plays hard
3. Seems like good kid
4. But probably the most important reason is, he is not a great foul shooter. Don’t think he choked, just missed.
If had been Luis, Wilcher, Dunlap or Scott may have been different fan reaction.
You think the fans would have booed the other kids you mentioned? I disagree with that.

Not booed but for sure on here would have been different.
Again a 70 plus FT shooter missing there would have had the implication of choking.
I don’t think anyone thought Zuby choked was my main point.

He is not Chris Dudley or Dunlap last year but wouldn’t call him a good free throw shooter and again didn’t think he choked.
No SINGLE player is responsible for a loss.
SJU had 40 minutes to win that game. Zuby missed two at the wrong time but look how many other shots/FTs were missed. How many turnovers or missed defensive assignments. It just happens.

You said 70 plus not me. I don’t consider him bad at all. In the open practice last year he missed almost every ft and improved greatly
