Attendance numbers

Yes there is a way but you have to pay to get into NYCT’s fare zone to do it. Due to the numerous subway tunnels and passageways in the area, to do a direct connection would have required a deep and circuitous route which would not have been cost effective for whomever paid for it and would have defeated the purpose of a more direct route.

The only reason MSG has such connections (you still have to go outside) is due it being built directly over part of the original Pennsylvania Station.
just do what I do. Ride the train with sju85 and nothing ever goes wrong. The train even waits for us to get pizza

In any event, that's where O'Malley wanted Dodger Stadium to be built. Robert Moses said, "I'll tell you where we build a new stadium, you don't tell me. I'll build it in Flushing Meadows"

And O’Malley says ‘Oh yeah, well then I am moving out west and bringing the Giants with me!”

First I believe O’Malley said to Moses, “How are we going to call ourselves The Brooklyn Dodgers if we’re playing in Queens.” Robert Moses was really drunk with power and influence during that time.

Actually he said, "We are the Brooklyn Dodgers, not the Queens Dodgers." Moses wouldn't budge, so O'Malley advised that the city of Los Angeles would build him a beautiful new stadium in Chavez Ravine. Moses dared him to do it, and said leaving NY for California would be suicide. (No team was west of the Mississippi at that point). As you said, the Giants jumped after the Dodgers committed, and moved first, starting in 56. The Dodgers for their part, won the world series in Brooklyn in 55, before moving to L.A. for 57.

Hundreds of thousands, if not millions of New Yorkers followed their team west.

If Moses had offered Queens to Horace Stoneham before O’Malley sold him on moving, the Giants probably take because they wanted a new park too.

It would have put O’Malley in a tough spot because needed another team to go out west with him to make it happen.

Miscalculation on Moses’ part. I may have been a NY Giants baseball fan today.

It all seems like ancient history but in 2018 I was in San Fracisco for Barry Bonds Day. Packed stadium and friendly season ticket holders around me. Chatting with an older guy seated next to me, he told me he moved to San Fran in 63 or 4 from nyc, and when he learned i was from Queens, he called to a woman in the next row who moved to SF from Flushing also in the early 60s. Cool stuff.

I think the size of the crowd outside of financial concerns will be fine. The lower bowl will be filled, and very few Marquette fans. Crowd needs to be loud from the beginning. Hopefully we can get a good start.

Let’s hope so as the team really deserves it.
A win tomorrow night would be outstanding
And would bring larger crowds to our remaining games. Getting too ahead of myself now.
