As of today, St johns is on the cusp of an at large bid for the ncaa tourney?

It's a weak bubble. Win some games and we are right back in it. We have quality OOC wins compared to our competition.

After the Nova loss it was like getting hit over the head with a brick. Now this news!!!!!!!!! Wow! I am back!

Lets go Johnnies! NCAA tourney bid is in our grasp!

We need to stop calling it a "weak bubble." We seem to say that every year. Of course, the bubble would weaken when the field was expanded to 68.

I think we have enough years of evidence to know that this is what it is, now.

There are possibilities and there are probabilities. At best SJU falls in the former & remote at that imo.

I think it means that our destiny is still in our hands and the damage we have taken thus far can be undone if we figure out a way to win some games. Let’s see what Anderson and the gang that can’t shoot straight can salvage.

At the very least we'd probably have to go 6-3 to have a chance at an ncaanl bid. Does anyone see that as a possibility? Probably not
I'll take it one step further, they lose this Sunday and you could forget the nit.

Prove me wrong guys and finish 7-2 and win the damn b.e. tourny
I want you to prove me wrong.

Can't see how we would be a bubble team when we aren't anywhere near .500 in conference.

We need a 4 game win streak before anyone should even dream of bringing up the NCAA tournament as a possibility.

It's a unique conference this year in that every team with the exception of Providence had an at-large caliber OOC performance. I don't think that not finishing close to .500 is something that should be used against Big East members this year. The Big 12 is similar in that regard this year. Someone has to lose some of these games especially when a clear top tier has formed in the conference with Seton Hall and Villanova. We are the worst team in the conference according to Kenpom, the conference doesn't have a Northwestern/Nebraska that is a second division team that everyone can guarantee a win against to inflate records of the contenders like the Big 10 has.

I know

I have zero expectations if they ncaa bid but my point is that we still are not down and out of anything. Would be nice to grab an NIT bid though.

7-11 conference record is bubble. 8-10 is in IMHO. We are a long way from either.

It would require us to run the table at home. We can win any of the home games. But, asking to win ALL of the home games is asking a lot. As for the remaining road games, I don't see any as winnable since we only have games against the top 4 teams of the league left.

Yes, we have hung in there against some really good teams in league play, but thus far we have only beaten DePaul in conference games. That's it. No one else. Please add at least one other team to that list before we even consider thinking about the bubble.

Yes, we are.

The problem is looking forward. We need to actually start winning some games, and we won't be favored in many.

If we get to 7-11 then we'd be on the bubble and could get a bid depending on how we do in the BET (IMO 1 win would do it). 7-11 seems very unlikely, though.

And in the NET, which is what the committee uses, the lowest ranked team is Providence at 78.

We're 73, so if Georgetown wins Sunday, it would still be a quad one win for them. They're somewhere in the 30s, so they would be quad 2 for us.
