Around the Big East

UConn looking like the clear best team in the conference again. Beating Gonzaga despite an off shooting night from 3. McNeeley will only continue to get better. Not at that unbeatable level they were at last year but Maui is looking like just an early season aberration.

Marquette.

Marquette, Xavier, Providence , Seton Hall, Creighton all lose yesterday .
Only UCONN, G ‘town, DePaul win.

It would seem that with only UCONN and Marquette currently ranked , the BE might struggle to get 3 bids .

And , with our OOC resume being weak , we aren’t getting any help from that area .
Right now , I would say , we need to finish 3 rd or better to get a Bid .

Freshman Liam McNeely is smart, gifted and a stat stuffer for UConn, hate the program, but enjoy watching him. Winning a national championship & Hurley edged out Longhorns for native Texan.

UConn v Johnnies games will be fun.

The Big East is really not good this year outside the top three. This isn't a conference where winning 10 or 11 games gets you in -- especially if its not including multiple wins against a top 3 team. We should be seeing these road games against teams like Providence as must wins, instead of "would be nice"

Looking forward to the Scott/Luis vs McNeely/Karaban battle

UConn is back. Hall is snakebit. Marquette is beatable. I hope we aren't overrated too; hard to say given the BE so far.
We matchup extremely well with Marquette. They aren’t big and they don’t kill you on the glass — which is our biggest weakness.

I think we could sweep them if we played a pair of games on a neutral court. I think we could win 3-4 games out of ten @ Marquette. There is some potential there for us to beat them twice…certainly if we play them a third time in the conference tournament.

Our out of conference schedule wasn’t weak.
