It's a big leap in competition for him, though.
A lot of our guys this year took a long time to adjust, and they were coming from a level higher (at least) than this guy was.
What choice does he have ? No nil money to offer.
Not sure what you base that statement on. In any event, Shaka's been pretty damn successful with that strategy to date.
Shaka has plenty of NIL $, IMO. He just uses it to retain kids and develop them for roster continuity purposes.
Hall has NIL $$ too, just not as much as peers if you believe what's out there. But it's out there publicly they made pretty significant offers to both Dre Davis and Kadary to keep them. Those kids just went elsehwere.
One of my few kid-acknowledged "you know Dad, you were right" moments was when Kalk was a freshman and I said to my son "that guy is going to be a problem for 4 years."
And now I'm wrong. It's FIVE years. It just isn't fair.
