Around the Big East

Class act all the way. That’s the way it should always be. Battle like hell during the contest, support like heck after the game. The losers who point to ring-less fingers or jaw at each other after the game are everything college sports should NOT be about.

The Truth was after Mullin , the best St John’s player of the last 50 years .

I just wished in the 85 Semi Final against G’Town that our Coaching staff had recognized the box and 1 on Mullin and gone to Walter and Mark Jackson more .

Maybe might have made for a better game. .
I’ll never forget Berry’s block of Pearl’s shot to win the Big East championship. That block was as big as any last second shot ever taken.

You know we had a discussion about would winning the NIT do anything for recruiting. Initially I thought, probably not much. I watched a very exciting game, but this morning all I see is Sha, a newly minted champion telling his opponent to keep their chin up.

That’s wonderful advertisement for the Hall and Sha. Is that going to convince a 5 star recruit to pick SHU over Kentucky and a couple hundred grand? No way.

Is Sha going to get more looks from area 3 and 4 star recruits getting passed on because coaches are looking at the portal? Are mid majors players from around the country and their parents going to see that and reach out to the hall? I think so.

They are in very good hands. Which makes me worried about my annual bet.

I was never able to figure out this season if he's actually terrible or if Neptune managed to horribly misuse both him and Bamba (along with most of the rest of the roster). Bamba I know has a lot of ability that went to waste. Don't know about Ware.
Probably Neptune. That's my answer to all things Villanova until proven otherwise.

But here is an alternate take

I have a definite lean towards "he's terrible" but the 4 star raking, Kentucky recruiting, and total lack of respect for Neptune make it an unknown. But my eyes say he's terrible, yeah.

Spoke to a friend today who's Seton Hall alum/donor. Told me that the NIT run has actually led to a decent amount of donations towards their NIL.
