Around the Big East

I went to a game at the Dunk when Mullin was the coach. The Johnnies got beat by 30 points. There was one fan who was relentless about what a terrible coach Mullin was. All game long he gave it to him. To the point you start to laugh because he was loud and consistent. He definitely was a A hole!
It turned out the fan was not wrong.

Just say no to any more DePaul players and all the deprogramming that would be needed.
The Big East should give serious consideration to letting DePaul go. They bring nothing to the table for this league, and it looks like they are going to finish last for years to come. Almost like Temple football.

OK, they bring the Chicago market, but how much is that really worth? If anything, being in a big city has been a detriment in this league, with the exception of Nova while Jay Wright was still around. The other three Big City teams have all been bottom feeders.

Marquette and Providence are in lesser cities (Milwaukee is not Chicago, Providence is not Boston), and you can make the same case for Seton Hall (NJ being just outside NY, not in it). Those schools have at least had some success.

Idk. Obviously, as the rest of the league you have to make sure you win. But I think the 10 B12 teams would have been better served if DePaul was part of their round robin schedule this year.

Plus I’m sure this topic has been posed on quite a bit of BE fan boards with our very own SJU included with DePaul.

I agree with that first point, for sure.

Big East was the ideal league for NCAA Tournament success this year. Very strong at the top, but enough weakness at the bottom, that those teams could survive an off performance, or win by so much they could give their starts some rest.

It didn't quite come across as a war every night.

Somebody has to finish last. Be glad for DePaul or we would have more last place finishes. Same thing you hear about Vanderbilt football in SEC.

Irks me UCONN reaping bene's from its Nat Champ title in NEW YORK...@ MSG!
Sarcasm alert!

No. No. Don’t you get it?

The Big East is reaping the benefits from last night. I can feel the warm vibes already.

We should all give thanks to UConn!

Wasn't that field already set before?
Yeah thought that too, but now lots more buzz they're in it.
Hey, they deserve it. Outplayed every opponent double-digits, and Hurley is an excellent coach.
Just don't want them to benefit too much from this at our expense, lol.

Things you can be certain of, death, taxes and obnoxious drunk UConn fans no matter what the circumstances are.
