Around the Big East 25-26

Arizona should be the #1 team in the country on Monday and UConn played them really close. Even though the big east is way down, this could be the best top two in a long time and would be a lot of fun if both teams stick around the top 10 all season

Didn’t catch the game tonight but he was so bad against BYU the other night. Like “lowers their ceiling” bad
He's so good on defense that it really complements the other guards nicely. Ball will never be confused for a good defender and Demary is going to have trouble with smaller guards. He also gets in the lane at will and looks to spread it around....could be a little wild but that comes with that style. He's everything you want in a 20 mpg guard and a big improvement over Diarra.

I don't know if Uconn has enough overall firepower. They will have to be a really balanced team.

Yea I think when I caught the BYU game the other night he was just especially wild with that dribble. I would agree that he is a perfect junkyard dog guard off the bench but with him prone to a shaky handle and poor shooting numbers I am definitely skeptical of him on a team with UConn's aspirations

Thanks but that’s august. Smith was a “potential target” in April

Had earlier observations but that is the clearest version of what you're looking for
Here’s a good one. If you were more succinct I wouldn’t have to cut off your handle 🤣.

Not sure if M. Smith was the “smaller true pg” you were referencing but pretty good summary of concerns early.

Yes - I saw that I had comments in April and May referring to Smith but I thought the later one was clearer. I liked him as a very solid option for the position. I'm risk-averse, I would have grabbed him and then worried about whether I could land a big fish instead of passing on him. I think the staff may have had injury-history concerns with him but to me he was a guy you get, makes your team better, can hold down the fort and maybe a little more at the position. If you get an All-star to play with him, fine. Very similar to Diarra in that regard. If not, you're good with him plus somebody to eat up 10-15 minutes when he's out of the game. Oh well.
