UConn coach Dan Hurley contemplated stepping down after last season: ‘I was completely cooked’

Can’t wait for the STJ/UConn game in 2038 days when Hurley returns to Storrs as our coach. Will be game of the year material!

Now he tells us. If Hurley would have mentioned this earlier, SJU could have scheduled UConn in Carnesecca.

The heat there would have baked him after he was cooked (he already simmers, stews, and boils over during games).

Can't argue with Hurley's success and I've always been of the opinion that his presence in the Big East is a huge positive for the league. But man, this piece makes him sound like a millennial snowflake. Get a grip!

thought he sounded normal for the situation he was in. lots of pressure with self expectations. especially after so much success. will give him a pass. burnout is burnout despite all the money he is making, not usual.

Bottom line, the scholarship and roster limit is fifteen and for him to remain on the team they would have been one over the limit. They now have fifteen players and all can be placed on scholarship just like us.

No Ian Jackson?

A Wild guess on my part is that 3 Johnnies were in the top 10 . Sanon , Zuby , Hopkins .
It seems the writer was trying to distribute some attention to the other BE Schools by naming some other players

Otherwise , it would look like a Johnnies blow out on this pre season team .

It’s also possible the Writer withheld Jackson due to his changing position to PG?

It’s only speculation but , it creates interest .

One man’s opinion

Crazy how everyone has just forgotten about how much of an absolute monster Hopkins is healthy. He was almost the Big East POY as a soph. When he has it all going, it's over.

The Newark Friday night to cap the round robin is the cherry on top. Cementing another banner year on their turf while they're browbeaten is incredibly satisfying. We don't have short memories and won't have any remorse.
i think we wrap up the BE crown either Nova/Gtown home games....
