Do you think UConn wins the two recent titles without him?

Depends on who their replacement 5th guy was, which is what he was close to on those teams in terms of talent. He's a glue guy for sure but the most important players IMHO for UConn in those years were:

2023: Sanogo, Jackson, Newton and I'd put Hawkins over Karaban as well.
2024: Newton, Spencer, Clingan, Karaban and Castle duking it out for #4

He was an important piece for both teams. It's not many teams that have that kind of depth. But I wouldn't say he was a defining player for either team.

This year he will be far more important to title chances than he was those years as he's a leader and a grown 23 year old man. But Demary, Reed and Ball have play to their abilities and be the best basketball players on the team if they are to get #3 natty in four years.

It's great being retired... Just had a cigar while watching Butler/South Carolina
Gimme 112 days and I'll be with you. I actually switched my retirement date from 3/31 to 3/15 so I could spend my first week of retirement watching basketball (besides the time flying to Florida Friday morning). And if by some stroke of luck St Johns ends up in Tampa week 1 I'll be at the round of 32 no matter the cost. Fixed income be damned.

Been retired 8 1/2 years and it keeps getting better. My wife and I went this morning to a class made available through Davidson College on the disappearing Colorado River. Hearing about that water starved region made me thirsty so we went for lunch to a great place RedstormNC knows the NY Butcher Shoppe where I had a couple of King Canary brews with Meatballs Pompodoro and smoked mussels with Italian sausage - delicioso. Came home went for a walk and now watching Butler game as well (no cigar though) after which I'll switch to the game between home town team Davidson College and BC on ESPN2!

Sounds great but don’t try to replace Maher as this boards top food critic, it’s not happening.

Agree with everything other than him being classified a glue guy. Think that’s disingenuous for a guy averaging 13 & 5 plus a block and steal on amazing shooting #s.
