St John’s Julian Champagnie is Big East Rookie of Week. Greg Williams makes honor roll #sjubb
Julian's good game today made me think about the current Big East Freshman. Not as talented as last years class or as deep but the All Freshman team seems pretty locked right now...

Champagnie
Robinson-Earl & Moore from Villanova
Weems from DePaul
Freemantle from Xavier

Am I overlooking anyone? I really can't think of anyone else who makes sense. Also am I insane for thinking that if Champagnie is able to have a couple more strong performances in the Big East tournament he can leapfrog Robinson-Earl or Moore for Freshman of the Year? I don't think it's likely but it seems possible now.
I would add the frosh point guard at Xavier, Tandy. He was big part of Xavier's turnaround when he got to start.
Admit I never saw this coming from Providence.

Also this DePaul debacle I think is going to seal Leitao's fate. Funny too it looked so promising early on this year that they finally turned the corner. Looked like Leitao in a must win year was going to save his job.
They better get rid of the athletic director, who keeps hiring all the failed coaches. I would think they would consider Loyola's coach.

I remember early on some here were writing off Providence and to a lesser extent Villanova. It’s all about the coaching and Cooley and Wright (like them or not) figure out a way to get the most from there teams. Hopefully, this is where we are headed with Coach Anderson.

Agree...realize they have had roster gaps (e.g. no PG last year) but think they have underachieved the last 2 years. Especially problematic in that they seem to have wasted the opportunity to leverage new arena. I think he has a good class coming in, so they will have to walk a fine line.

Will be really interesting to see where the BE teams get seeded in NCAA tourney. After the top 3 most will probably fall in the 7-10 range maybe even the play in game depending on Marquette and Xavier’s BET.

FWIW CBS had Butler as a 4

Look around the rest of the country.

Unless they win the BET then not worth much lol

Good recruiting or not after 5 years of NO major post-season bids not sure how Leitao can be brought back. And I mean they literally did not show up last night in Providence. I mean come on at one point they trailed by 45.

Marquette in particular looks cooked again. This is 2 years in a row they've collapsed.. Remember last year they were rolling to the BE crown, at 12-2. Had like a 3 game lead over Nova. They blew a double digit lead at SHU and literally lost last 4 of regular season, blew out SJU in QF of BE Tourney but then lost to SHU and then got smoked as a 5 seed to Ja Morant in Tourney. Losing 6 of 7 to end season. Guess what? They have lost 6 of seven this year. That is a becoming a problem for Wojo. Losing the Hauser brothers to transfer was huge both on and off the court.

Marquette relies too much on Howard making miracle 3's consistently. They don't have a great team around him. They lack athleticism compared to other teams like us as well. If they had 2 other athletic guys who could score especially inside driving, they'd be way better. I also think Wojo just isn't that good. The team with both Hausers, Howard, Theo, etc. and couldn't make tons of noise? That's a top 10-15 worthy team.

Great story

Seton Hall’s Romaro Gil is Big East Most Improved Player AND Defensive Player of the Year. Helluva season #shbb
Also won Defensive POY

I'm worried about Duke after reading this.

New AP Top 25 poll : Seton Hall falls eight spots to No. 16, Creighton 7th, Villanova 11th.

4 teams in the Top 25. Great for exposure heading into the Big East Tournament.

#7 Creighton
#11 Villanova
#16 Seton Hall
#24 Butler

Providence at #27 just missed.

Also, WVU is #22
