Sim’s former teammates Brady Dunlap and Jaiden Glover made wiser decisions re the level of play that provides the best opportunity to get minutes. I also think the Wilcher camp has an inflated sense of his capability.Sim about to realize the grass isn't always greener, but he wasn't gonna see any time here with Jackson, Sanon, Sellers basically playing the same position.
Sim looked lost out on the court. I watched him wander around. It’s early in his time at Texas but that wasn’t a great start.Sim’s former teammates Brady Dunlap and Jaiden Glover made wiser decisions re the level of play that provides the best opportunity to get minutes. He had an open 3 rattle in and out, a nice running drive in the lane that did the same and another runner in the lane that hit the back board nowhere near the rim. There were times we saw this last year also. 2nd half he has brought the ball up and then in the half court gave it to their point to run the offense.Sim looked lost out on the court. Yet he started 25 games for the Big East Regular Season and Tournament Champions last yearThere are some times where even somebody who knows nothing about either team can locate the worst player on the court within a few possessions. That's been Sim tonight.
I don't think it's a fit issue. I think he's just not a high major basketball player.

And boy does he look enthused to be standing in the cornerThere are some times where even somebody who knows nothing about either team can locate the worst player on the court within a few possessions. That's been Sim tonight.

That's why Rick Pitino is the best of all time. Went 18-2 and won the conference with an A-10 caliber player shooting 26% from 3 and a turnover rate twice his assist rate startingYet he started 25 games for the Big East Regular Season and Tournament Champions last year![]()
Unless his shot finally starts falling at a high percentage which I doubt he's unfortunately destined to be nothing more than a bit piece on what's going to be a bubble team at best. He's going to have a big decision to make in 6 months. Spend his final season in college doing 15 mins of cardio per game for a power conference team or go down a level and maybe average double digits per gameAnd boy does he look enthused to be standing in the corner
Did he commit any fouls? Because if so those would be the first fouls he’s ever committed in his career.According to the box score, Sim didn't start, played 15 minutes, didn't score, had one turnover but he had one rebound, one steal and two assists.
Maybe a bit piece of 15 minutes ago does not mean he can’t play for a high major team. Not everyone at high majors are stars but can still play at that level nonetheless.Unless his shot finally starts falling at a high percentage which I doubt he's unfortunately destined to be nothing more than a bit piece on what's going to be a bubble team at best. It was a great entry pass, unfortunately Sim and Texas, that was about it from him.Well a great entry pass by Sim leads to a 3 minute convo from Dickie V and crew about Pitino and SJU. Even when Rick loses he wins!
Didn't see any of last night's game and will assume Sim looked as lost as those who did commented. Having said that, way premature imho to say he is not a high major player. He was sixth man on a top 10 team who were runaway Big East champs and I consider us a high major league. He was maddeningly inconsistent for us and Oziah is an upgrade for sure. But he played 41 minutes in our big OT win at Marquette and scored 13 points in that one.Maybe a bit piece of 15 minutes ago does not mean he can’t play for a high major team. He is a junior now and surely it is time for him to play confidently and effectively. Texas is deep with some good guards. Hopefully Sim made the right choice going there and aggressively works hard and takes advantage of his opportunities at Texas.Didn't see any of last night's game and will assume Sim looked as lost as those who did commented. While I agree he may well have been better off going to the A-10 and playing a major role like Glover did, I will wait a few games to conclude he can't be a valuable rotation player off the bench for Texas. Wish him the best. I also recall Sim often looking like a deer in the headlights during his first year with us, perhaps there was a little of that as his confidence clearly comes and goes.
